Is it set to run disc or hard drive 1st?
if reinstalling windows it needs to boot up from cd drive 1st and this will automatic copy to new garden drive, after that change bios to boot up from hard drive.
Make sure first that there are no devices plug in to the usb when you boot up the computer. Check if the harddrive is being detected by the computer. Press F2 to go to BIOS menu and see if the computer can detect you harddrive. It should be under the main menu and will say below harddrive. It should give you infromation of the harddrive. If there is no information of the harddrive then the problem there is the harddrive already.
I'll asume something for this one it might help. Make sure your laptop is completely turned off [No fans turn, screen black, no hard drive light]. When you then press the power button, immediately keep pressing the F8 button on your keyboard. It should then actually display two options after a while :
*Delete restore/resume point and start windows *Resume restore/resume point
Select 'Delete restore point' and the unit should boot up fine again.
I had a unit that was basically turbo-booting into windows, but the restore point was corrupt and it always seemed it had a 'blank screen' problem.
You can also try to access the BIOS by pressing F2 as soon as the unit starts up to see if you can actually access the BIOS.
Hello there: when you replaced the hard dive did you go into the bios and make sure that the harddrive was recognized and set up as the primary drive. also you may be able to get around this by pressing the reset buttona on the back of the unit and hold in and turn on the power at the same time than release after 10 seconds and if this still doesent work try to boot by pressing the f12 key as it starts up ok? best regards michael
It seems like your harddrive has given up the ghost or thrown out the operating system.Power up the machine and enter the bios (Press either Del,F1,F2 to enter) once in bios check the system can see the harddrive,9 If bios can,t recognise the harddrive then it,s dead, If it can then the next step is boot options and make sure it it booting from the harddisk. If It is then see if there is a recovery progrom in the bios that will enable a system restore,If not then change the boot option to start with a Cdrom and put in the recovery disk that was supplied with the Pc.
When going through the process with the cd you will soon find out if the harddrive is corrupt or Dead.
