The solenoid has nothing to do with the crusher mechanism. Rather it delivers water to the ice tray when empty. Check that the ice door closes completely after ice is dispensed otherwise frost can build up in the crusher blades and prevent them from moving into position. Otherwise, check for a worn out part that connects to the blades and would prevent them from articulating.
Make sure the ice crusher/dispenser is working or gt a technician 2 look at it. Also ensure that u do not spil water when refiling the ice maker n do not go beyond the full markings 4 this may cause malfunctions when the water is frozen.
Try and access the ice dispenser assembly and check from where the water is leaking. You would need to disassemble the ice dispenser and ice maker to check this. The ice dispenser is located in the upper portion of the freezer compartment. This assembly stores ice made by the icemaker and dispenses ice on demand from the door dispenser target switch.
1. Remove the upper ice bucket tray.
2. Slide out the ice dispenser assembly.
3. Remove the ice cube solenoid linkage Phillips head screw and slide the linkage back.
4. Remove the ice crusher cover Phillips head screws (2) and remove the cover.
5. With a pair of pliers, twist off the backing plate tabs located on either side of the crusher.
6. With 2 small flat-blade screwdrivers, unlock the ice crusher locking tabs located at either side of the ice crusher.
7. Lift the ice crusher out of the bucket.
8. Remove the ice crusher back cover.
9. Remove the locking ring from the ice crusher auger.
10. Remove the plastic nut with a pair of pliers by turning it clockwise.
11. Remove the spacers and blades. The blades are numbered for reassembly.
Icemaker--
The icemaker is located in the upper rear of the freezer compartment and supplies ice to the dispenser tub.
1. Disconnect the icemaker cable connector.
2. Remove 1/4-in. icemaker mounting screws and slide out the icemaker.
This refrigerator is equipped with an Electronic Icemaker.

Remove the ice tray and check to make sure that it is not froze up with with ice. the bottom of the tray has a rod attached to it that controls a flapper that opens and closes to allow the ice to pass thru without hitting the cutter or closes to hit crush blades. make sure this is not in a bind or froze up. this rod goes into a plastic housing at the back of the freezer that has a solenoid switch that activates it to open it up. check to make sure all of these items are free of ice and in their proper position and or not broken.
go to web sight . www.apdepot.com. put in your brand and model # look at the ice maker bucket assm. this will give you a picture af the proper assembly . pt # 12517801 .. **** .
The freezer fan has to work in order to move the air inside the cabinet. Now take out the back panel, molding and look at the small fan unplug the frig and remove the fan. Save the fan blades they just press on so will take a little effort to remove the blades. Take the motor to parts house in your area and replace it. Let me know how things turn out. ken
I also have the same model as you. My problem with the ice maker has been build-up of ice under the cube pan which holds the crusher and cubes. ( I pulled the pan out and cleaned up the ice, pushed and re-seated the pan against the back of the freezer where it connects into the crusher motor). In a day or 2 it was working fine again. I got this problem because my son was pullying the pan out and emptying all the ice-cubes into his cooler for his bottles of water and soda., He was not pushing the pan back far enough to seat into the motor of the crusher and this left room for the ice to accumulate under the pan and pushing it forward away from the crusher motor which makes a loud noise when the pan is not seated correctly. There is another problem I had because the freezer was opened to often. The door dispenser became warm and the crushed ice accumulated in the dispenser and froze there, so if I opened the door, ice-cubes would fall out of the pan all over the floor. Also check the back of the pan where the crusher connects to the motor, mine was full of frozen moisture turned to ice which kept the crusher from seating properly. If this is not your problem then I would call a repairman as doing it yourself can be expensive because you may buy a part and then find out the old one was ok and it still doesn't work. Ice maker parts are very expensive .If you are positive that you know what is wrong then by all means fix-it. Also check your frozen food if it is frozen solid or soft, you may have a completely different problem than the ice-maker. Hope I helped some. Jerry
