MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer ordownload them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track. check your file type that you are putting into the mp3 player. This is a common mistake. Most accept MP3 but not other file types such as WMA from windows media player or AAC from Itunes. If all that is good then check where on the mp3's file system the files went using my computer. If they arent in the right folders than they might not show up
The Sansa Shaker ONLY plays MP3's, I downloaded a bunch of .wma files and kept getting the uh-oh so I put on an mp3 I had a voila! it played. Bummer though. Guess I gotta figure out how to convert my music files for my daughter, or pitch this thing and buy one that will play any media file.
mine does that all of the time, you simply have to delete them and put them on again. If you put the files in a "new" folder in the music folder it seems to keep them from becoming corrupted, I would also put the player in MSC mode and do a checkdisk.
My daughter received an ibratz mp3 player for xmas and same with us having transferred music to mp3 but when trying to play there is great nothingness! the players says the files are there but there is no authority!!
When Microsoft initiated the DRM system, any Rio Carbon that was hooked into Windows Media Player had the previously working files invalidated. Happened to me as well. The player lasted me three years, and that is about as long as any Mp3 player is going to last we are finding out b/c of all the software snafus.
