Mark, I'm not sure if you ever got your answer in all of that above but just in case you didn't....yours is in the war years 1944, or 45. Winchester kept no records of public serials those years because pretty much all of their manufacturing went to the war effort. Simply no record keeping. In 1942, #1221289, was sold. 43, 44, 45, 46, and 47 there were no records. In 1948 they began again at the number 1500000. You can't get any accurate to the day date on yours but if you divide those numbers by the five years you get approx 55,700 a year. So 1221289 + 55700 is approx 1277000. Add another 55700 and you get approximately late 1944 to early 45 for your rifle. I hope that helps.
The rifle is from after 1952 but the serial number is from 1938
As the 308 round only became available after 1952 but without the full number to age it value will be hard to tie down
Hi. According to the serial guide serial number 3000000 was begun in 1967, and as this has a fairly low number relative to that, I would say that it is a 1968-69 model., 1970 at the very latest.
As for approximate value, I would put a rough estimate of around 300-350 dollars. If it were a pre-1064 model, it would be worth twice as much, but after design changes in 1964, it really isn't exactly the same as say one from 1963 and older.
I hope this has given you some value to your rifle. A winchester model '94 is about as good of quality as you can get. Not only is it the rifle that won the west, but it is still as solid of a performer today as it ever was !!
