I have Cubase 5 - 64 bit for my Dell - Why is it that everytime I play into the program with my guitar there is a fraction of a second where it is delayed - i have read up on so many latency issues and there are so many different solutions...some which I have tried and have not yet worked?

SOURCE: delay on keyboard when using with cubase and reason

this is because of the lantency of your sound card and your driver settings.

with 2 seconds,
that sounds like you're using a MME driver for your card.

try to change the driver to ASIO (if possible),
if not, change it to directX

you can do that that way:

- Open up Devices > Device Setup > VST Multitrack

- Drop-down the ASIO Driver settings on the right side of the screen

I am totally lost!! All I have is the lambda lexicon and cubase LE4 on my desktop.Apparently it is not set up correctly. I want to record guitar and voice I have sound on lambda through mike and guitar but...

All it needs is a USB connection. You'll need to go into Cubase device setup and make sure your lambda drivers are selected. Then create the audio channels in cubase with the inputs set as the inputs you're using for guitar and mic. There is a monitor button right next to the record enable button that needs to be enabled if you want to hear playback from your computer.

Good luck!

I have a HP laptop w 3 gigs ram and 350 gigs hard drive running on win vista 32 bit. Everytime I try to import or export this system hangs up and it says cubase Le is not responding.

This sounds like a driver problem. You can download vista drivers for Cubase from here, which should fix your problem.

If you are sequencing midi tracks you can imbed the patch change in the track and the midi channel assignment and when the sequence plays the info will be sent to the keyboard. Do you have it set to receive Omni?

Cubase shuts down every time I try to process a recorded file

Hi Melimiti,
You are not the only one with this problem. Cubase is quite a complicate software. If reinstalling does not help we need to have a CLEAN Install on a new OS. If the problem still persist contact the vendor for the product exchange.

Sync problem in cubase sx

Try resetting it if there is a reset on the card. If not there has to be a solution associated with the software. Did it happen while you were using it? Try the default settings

This is caused by latency. You can fix it by beefing up your computer, sound card, or audio input device.

Delayed vocal

If you're recording to an audio program on your computer (e.g., Cubase), there typically is a slight delay in the tracks you record with the first one (such as a slight delay in the vocal when layering over the guitar track). ou can change the delay in the "Preferences" for the audio card in your computer or you can remove the delay manually.. I do the latter. I record using the Audacity 1.3.3. program on a Mac G4. I find that get a 0.3 second delay in tracks layered onto the first track. So, after I record a track, I cut the first 0.3 seconds froom the beginning of the track (I give myself at least 10 seconds of "dead air" at the start. and keep playing the tracks until they're synchronized. Takes a good ear, but really is the best way to synchronize the tracks.
