I have a side-by-side Kenmore refrigerator model #59762990, it have same cool air on both side which is good enough for the refrigerator site but not freezer side. Remove the back panel inside the freezer and no frost build up in evaporator coils, no clicking noise from relays or compressor.

SOURCE: Refrigerator Not Making Ice, Frost in Freezer and Refrigerator Not Cold

It has a defrost problem.  Most likely cause would be the defrost thermostat which clips onto the evaporator behind the back panel in the freezer.  Next most common would be the defrost timer.  Third would be the defrost heater.  Let me know if you want to try to test these parts.  If so I will need the entire model # from the sticker in the fridge or on older models on a plate at the bottom front below the door.

SOURCE: inside fan motor - evaporator

Yes if you dont hear the evap fan wprking remove rear panel in freezer let me know what you see. Is coil iced over? Is fan running? Is the motor warm? Attempt to spin the blade gently to see if the motor is bound. You can oil these.

SOURCE: kenmore freezer and fridge is not cold - not frost build up - compress anf fans are all running

You need a qualified technician for this problem.
- Your unit may have leaking try to check for oil traces.
- The system maybe restricted, system reprocess is needed for this unit.
- If the unit is no frost try to check if there is an air circulation inside the unit. If no air is present then check your fan motor inside.

SOURCE: kenmore fridge model#596.52679200 side by side

remove back cover on evaporator inside frezeer if is full of ice all over then you have a defrost problem and you might have a faulty defrost timer or defrost thermostat repl both so you wont go wrong if the coils are clean and not frost is on coils then check compressor to see if its running just by touching you can find out if it si not running then you have a faulty relay or overload repl and compressor should start.if there is only partial frost then you have a leak or restriction depending when you bought it most refrigerators have a maufactures warranty on compressor for about 5 years call for service on the number on the sticker inside refirgerator

Kenmore side by side - model - 253.54739304. we moved it from one house to another. it was working fine. now won't freeze or cool properly. like it is in defrost mode. compressor was not running...

if while moving it , you laid it on its side, it collected air in the lines, having it unplugged is a good idea, normally 24 hours is enough for the air to settle,, try it again after that time,

Can not reach cooling temperatures.

Clean all the dust and lint accumulation from under the unit, remove the condensation collection pan and clean it, and make sure the bottom fan is running.

I can't emphasize strongly enough how much of an enemy the accumulation of dirt and dust under a refrigerator can be its worst enemy. It can make the refrigerator exhibit symptoms of much more serious problems. Sometimes a good cleaning can have it operating like new with no real 'repairs' whatsoever.

Good Luck. Hope this helps.

Condensor running, some cool air on both sides, not cool enough

There are 2 things I an think of right off. the most likely is a defrost problem. Look at the back wall of you freezer compartment and look for snowy ice build up if so most likely culprit would be defrost termination switch. the switch is inexpensive and easy to replace. you will need to order it by your model and serial number.
the next not as likely problem would be a low freon charge this problem would require a good service company to repair for you.
Good luck peyton

Refrigerator is not cooling

Hello hazraan
Welcome.

You said your Kenmore model 60852990 freezer is working but refrigerator is not cooling.

Lets try a couple of ideas.
Is your freezer filled up where the packages are covering the air vents in the rear of the freezer?
Refrigerators and freezers must share the cold air and circulate between them. If the freezer is packed full with not enough space at the air vents in side it, the fridge will get warmer!

Next,Turn off the fridge and freezer controls, and then go to the breaker box and turn off the breaker to the fridge for 5 minutes!!!!!
Then restart it and the fridge and freezer controls.
This should reset the system and solve the problem. let me know if either were the case.
If either was the reason,it now will take some 8 to 12 hours to gets back to temperature.

Waiting your response.

Refrigerator.

If you have determined that the evaporator fan in back of the freezer compartment is running, then you might have a stuck or broken air diffuser. The diffuser acts like a damper to divert air into the refrigerator compartment. Sometimes they jam or break due to frost buildup.
