Freezer operating correctly. fridge not cooling, all lights are on etc. it started to cool got to 8 degrees then stoped cooling temp went up from there.

is anything blocking the sensor,if it does not cool below -6 and where are you checking temp it could be a refrigerant problem.Turn fridge off for 10 min and start again.

That is correct, you have reached the thermostat set point. Does not matter C or F. Read the manual it will give you the limits:

it may be that your fridge is now low on freon the techs now do not know what to do the best thing to do is to call the tech and ask them to test the compressor pressures and see if it is low on charge. unless you know how to take the lower back panel off (the one that is probably cardboard) and feel the lines on the compressor and see if it is really cold and really hot that means that it is cooling properly but if it feels a little warm cominv out of the cooling side and hot on the return side then you need more freon.

My miele fridge freezer has just come up with a fault code F4 where the temp is... what does this mean and how can we fix it???

Is the 8 degrees centigrade? If yes check the freezer fan or for frost at back of freezer...and give me a holler.
