Please indicate make and model number of your flat panel, and maybe we can help you find a manual. Make sure the volume is turned up to at least mid-level. Check for a headphone jack or audio output jack on the front, back and sides of the panel. If you find one, plug a headset into the jack and see if you hear anything. Could be a bad speaker or audio amp. Hard to diagnose without more information.

Windows 7 has sooo many different options for audio it is confusing. If you right click on the (windows) speaker icon in the system tray and click "volume control options" you get one set of features. If you click on the "sound" icon in the device manager you get entirely different results! And lets not forget that your sound card probably has its own audio configuration utility! I have found that sometimes you have to play with all of these programs to get the sound to work properly. Getting windows to recognize the "default" seems to be the biggest issue.

back. The green port in the back is the same port thats used as a
headphone in the front. The same goes for the pink microphone jack. So
be sure only ONE of these (either the front or the back) is in use.
2. If no sound comes from the front jacks, go into "Reaklek HD Audio
Manager" and in the "Audio I/O" tab click the little wrench button next
to the word "Analog."
3. In this setting, CHECK "Disable Front Panel Jack Detection."
4. Click OK and suddenly you should be hearing audio and recording with your mic from the front jacks.

Onboard audio is disabled in the BIOS The BIOS Setup
program is accessed by pressing the <F2> key after the Power-On
Self-Test (POST) memory test begins and before the operating system
boot begins. Go to the Advanced > Peripheral Configuration menu to
make sure onboard audio is enabled. Audio settings in the sound mixer are incorrect Check your audio mixer software to ensure audio is not muted or the volume level is not turned too low. The speakers or headphones may be connected to the wrong jacks Make sure you connect all speakers to the correct jacks. If you connect them to line-in or microphone jacks, they won't work. Manager under the Sound, video and game controllers section for any
errors associated with the audio driver. Reinstall the audio driver if
necessary. Audio to back panel is muted if front panel is connected Check
your audio mixer software for a setting that mutes back panel audio if
you have plugged headphones into a front panel audio solution. Uncheck
this setting to allow audio to both the back and front. Sound Playback is set to wrong device In Control Panel

Sounds like the audio return wires aren't connected. On the motherboard, there is a sound jack on the back left side of the mobo. The jacks from the front audio panel connects to it. Both the Left and Right channel have an out and an in connector. These send the signal to the headphone jack on the front panel and return the signal to the rear output jack if a headphone is not connected. Look for looe or broken wires. The other spot to check is the front headphone jack. If a headphone plug was pulled out or pulled sideways, it could break the solder joint on the PCB panel or break the shunt feeding the singal to the rear jacks. Hope this helps.

ok try to connect your front panel audio (with jack connection as you said...green & pink i assumed) in the back panel audio (green-sound & pink-mic)...hope this might work?if it doesn't...well i might need more details regarding your mobo & your casing to figure out what's wrong with it...
have you check the connections of your front panel jack to your mobo?does your mobo supports secondary audio?check the manual of your mobo first and then inform me later...
