If the gas valve is chattering it is probably the coil on the valve. You can obtain a ohm reading on the valve and see if you have high resistance with a multimeter. Also check to see if your getting at least 22 volts across the coil should be terminals mv and c on the valve or sometimes there is just a 2 wire plug going to the valve. I think the coil on the vavle is faulty from the info you have given. Feel the black or silver coil on the valve and see if its getting really hot to touch. I would replace the valve
You could have a fan problem or with a stopped up vent line
the vac switch cuts the gas off if the there is not enough flow. its close to a fan cage and there is a small hose hooked to the vac switch.
