Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

Fridge is a GE GSS25WG side by side black. Ice and Water is not dispensing from outside. Also, light button is no longer working. All other buttons appear fully functional including refrigerator and freezer temperatures, door alarm, etc... When I press light button a clicking sound happens at door 1 or 2 times. Same thing happens when I press to get water or ice - it clicks one or two times. Lights appear a little more dim than usual.

Refrigerator is still making plenty of ice. Water filter appears fine and water filter light did not come on. Not sure if problem is electrical at the door or possibly something else and I'm not sure where to start to check.

On my Ge PSS26NGPC model, a few months ago, the water/ice dispenser and the temperature control panel stopped working, making me think I had a bad control board.  A few days later, everything was working fine until 6 weeks ago.  Then water/ice dispenser worked intermittently - opening and closing freezer door seemed to get it working again.  I noticed when it was working, the light flickered, as though there was a voltage fluctuation at the panel.  I changed out the main control board, but had the same issue until the the water/ice dispenser panel stopped working completely - not even the green lights.  The last time it dispensed water, the light came on and stayed on, then the panel went dead. I then replaced this panel, but still not working.  Ran diagnostics, and the "0 3" and "0 4" tests both failed - not surprising since the dispenser panel appears to be dead.  I have double checked connections at main control board, dispenser panel, and temp control panel, and none are loose.  No combination of old and new boards will get the dispenser panel to work.  Oh, the other symptom, when the panel was alive but not working, the green light next to the water or ice button would flash.  Any ideas on what to check next?

There's an ice- or water-dispensing problem The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

INSIDE THE DISPENSER ASSEMBLY IS A SEPARATE ELECTRONIC BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE DISPENSER.
OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR SOLENOID OR THE CUBE ICE SOLENOID WILL SHORT OUT CAUSING A BURNOUT OF THE DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. CHECK FOR A BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE DISPENSER HOUSING. IF YOU SMELL IT, THE BOARD AND/OR SOLENOID NEED TO BE REPLACED.

So your not getting water from the dispenser either??? Yes the water filter can be the source of your problem. Let me know if the water is coming from the dispenser.

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

I had GE come out and look at it. I wasn't home to ask questions. The repair man basically said it was a 'loose connection' in the back which is where the motherboard is for all the electronics. It took him less than 5 minutes to fix and he was gone.

Thankfully - it cost me zilch. I told a small white lie and said we were still under warranty and they didn't ask to verify. Can I get an Amen!
