it looks like windows is corrupt or your hard drive is faulty. if you have a recovery disc try using it to repair wondows. if that doesn't work you might need to do a clean install which means you'll lose your documents. if that still doesn't work it's likely to be your hard drive. even if you run a check disc on your hard drive and it passes that doesn't mean there isn't a fault with it
sounds like you have some corrupted files in the boot sector. 2 options. 1. using a vista dvd: let it boot from dvd and when it is loaded select the repair my computer option. once you get up and running use malwarebytes and superantispyware to remove any nasty bugs that you may have caught.
2. using your recovery partition do a system recovery this option restores your pc back to when you bought it.
If you are sure no one has tampered with it and entered a HDD password and it is not prompting for a password then it is most likely a HDD failure. It is possible the BIOS will still recognize the HDD. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the HDD if you can access it there should be screws on the bottom marked with a cylinder symbol.
