Aprilaire Humidifier Model No. 600 - Water panel is new. Green light blinks when dial turned to "Test." Unit serviced late August in prep for winter. Water valve is on but copper pipe from water heater does not get warm and water is not getting to unit. Thus, no humidification.

if its humidifier does it have water catchment bin is it full when was it last serviced

If your humidifier is equipped with a Digital Humidifier Control with Water

Panel change indicator, after replacing the Water Panel, turn the control

knob to the "Test/Reset" position until the "Humidifier On" light blinks to

reset its timer. (Blower must be operating and HVAC calling for heat.) Be sure

to turn the control knob back to it's original setting. If the "Humidifier On"

light continues to blink, your humidifier is in Test mode. DO NOT LEAVE THE
CONTROL IN TEST MODE OR HUMIDIFIER WILL NOT OPERATE.

HI, Troubleshooting an Aprilaire Humidifier

Aprilaire, a manufacturer of indoor air quality products including thermostats, air cleaners and dehumidifiers, also offers a line of whole house humidifiers. Installed in your existing heating and cooling system, humidity is produced by a supplied water source that flows over a water panel before being distributed throughout your air through the heating and cooling system. Issues you may need to troubleshoot with your Aprilaire humidifier include error messages and the unit producing too little or too much humidity.

Things You'll Need:

Replacement water panel


Turn down the control dial by one setting if condensation appears on your windows or walls.


Turn up the control dial by one setting if there is a lack of humidity, often indicated by dry skin or peeling wallpaper or paint.


Turn the control dial to "Test/Reset" if the humidifier does not run. Verify the heating and air conditioning unit blower is operating. If the heating and air conditioning unit is not operating or you are unable to resolve the issue contact a heating contractor.


Contact a heating contractor if you turn the control dial to "Off" and the humidifier continues to run.


Contact your Aprilaire dealer (see Resources) if you notice an error code on the display and the "Call Dealer for Service" light flashes.


Turn the control dial to "Off" and turn off the water supply if the yellow "Change Water Panel" light flashes. Lift the front panel off of the humidifier. Slide out the water panel. Insert a new water panel. Replace the front cover. Turn the control dial to "Test/Reset" until the "Humidifier On" light flashes. If you feel uncomfortable changing the water panel, contact a heating contractor.

Hello,Make sure the heating blower/fan is running when you turn the dial as the humidifier might not have power if there is no heating blower operation.

Thank you for contacting us with regards to your model 600 Humidifier. The Change Water Panel indicator should flash when the control knob is set to the Test/Reset mode. The flashing indicates that the timer has been successfully reset. However, the humidifier should operate for the first 60 seconds of Test mode as long as your furnace is running. If your humidifier does not turn on, contact your installer. The humidifier may require service.

Go to www.aprilaire.com and order the water panel for your type of humidifier . The model # should be located on the humidifier. the box you get from them will have directions on how to change. you will then need to turnyour dial on the humidistat to TEST until the green light BLINKS, this will reset the panel reminder timer.

sounds like you may have it wired to a continuous power source vs one that shuts off with the furnace. The most common wiring is red to C & white to W

if your using an outdoor thermostat then it may not be connected properly or the manual mode resistor wires are touching. these are connected on the humidistat just to the right of the H H terminals

There is a devise called a current sensing relay (a little black box that hangs on a blower motor wire that senses current from that wire) If you have such a devise it should hang from the white (common) wire. Loop the wire through twice.

Turn the control knob to the test/reset position untill the change water panel light blinks to reset the change panel timer. Make shure the furnace is running calling for heat.Turn control knob to prior setting after resetting timer. Hope this helps.
