Where is the serial number - toilet is 25 yrs old and need a new toilet seat.

Typically there is no serial number associated with a toilet seat. The seat will either be a round front or an elongated seat. Just make sure the shape is the same when purchasing the replacement seat.

How to replace a toilet seat

There are round and oval seats.... take note of which you need. Back towards the bowls water tank on the toilet seat you will notice two tabs....pop open with a screwdriver. You will see the screws holding the toilet seat in place. .

Reach under the screw there will be a plastic nut. Hold if while you losen the screws with the Screwdriver....remove and replace seat. ... install screws and plastic nuts again.... and your finished. ...5 minute repair

I need a toilet seat replacement of Porcher Veneto Toilet. The part number is 70030-00-001 and I'm told by Porcher is no longer available. They say no other seat fits. Any ideas? Where to find

I had the same issue and basically called every single american standard distributor I could find. I finally found one! They had the gold hinges but I didnt care, it fits and works fine. Make sure you know the part number. I had a good salesperson that knew to look for any color hinge so I had a seat

Replacement seat....size???

American Standard is the brand, so you've got a start there, but 1.6 is a flush measurement. Look around the inside for a tank for a model number - with AmStan toilets it's usually a four digit number beginning with a 2 or a 4. This will be what you need to get the OEM toilet seat. However, since toilet seats are purely cosmetic (they don't affect the functioning of the toilet), you can literally take a few measurements and find something that simply keeps you off the porcelain. http://www.plumbingsupply.com is a good one for toilet seats, btw.

Your toilet is still offered by the manufacturer:

Available replacement toilet seats from American Standard can be seen and ordered here:

You might consider finding you nearest dealer or choose another on-line retailer:

Before ordering suggest you confirm with American Standard Customer Service the appropriate replacement seat for your model.

Toilet seat cracked need replacement and aprrox. cost

Hello. A new seat is available at any hardware store. Elongated seats cost anywhere from 20-40. If you need to have it installed it will be significantly more. House calls are generally at least $50.00. Be sure to get a price up front as it only takes 5 minutes to replace a toilet seat.

If you want to do it yourself, unscrew the old one and screw on the new. That's it. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

NEED TO REPLACE THE SEAT AND COVER OF THE TOSCA TOILET

http://www.homeclick.com/web/catalog/product_detail.aspx?pid=365570&chnl=cse&ven=googlebase&cat=Bathroom%3AToilet%20Seats&brnd=Herbeau&itm=0651'Herbeau%200651%20Monarque%20Toilet%20Seat%20and%20Cover%20Only%20in%20Plain%20White%20-%200651

The picture shown with your post shows a toilet seat that looks like the one sold at site above.
But the site above is selling the toilet seat called the Monarque toilet seat and cover.
The particular seat shown is not called a Tosca.

Another site shows the identical whole toilet, and calls it the Herbeau
http://www.bizrate.com/miscellaneous/herbeau-toilet-and-toilet-seat/

The pdf from Eljer showing the Tosca toilet looks very similar to both the products shown on the two links above. Maybe this solves the question.

Can you just buy a toliet seat base??

Im not sure I understand the question so please excuse me. You can buy a toilet seat, and they usually attach to the toilet bowl. If the porceline that the seat is attached to is broken then the bowl will most likely need to be replaced. Most of the time you can replace the toilet cheaper than just replacing the bowl. Hope this helps.
