SOURCE: Rinse water fills the washing machine when the spin cycle starts
Check your outlet filter, most likely it is blocked, preventing the water from draining out. Chk your pump too. Before this disconnect from the wall socket; and also check the pipe coming from the tub to the filter. Siphon out the excess water from inside the machine before you open the pipes.

If this is a Whirlpool washer, you have a broken motor coupler

its your lid switch. it cant spin til that switch is closed, and they break all the time.its thru that hole where the lid seats on the top of the washer.also some times the switch actuator on the lid breaks, but not as offten.inspect that area and you will see issue.you can cut and connect the wires underthere in a pinch[there are three wires to the lid switch.dont connect the green ground its the other two]but you must be careful if you have children they will be curious and lift the lid and it wont stop spinning,so if they reach in with there arm, their has been cases of arms being torn of from spinning tub.how this helps God bless ,tom

you both seem to have bad lid switches. A bad lid switch will prevent draining and spinning.
