After setting up receiver, receiver turned on but had a amp err messge displayed yet it worked. Once I turned it off again and tried to turn it on the receiver message was amp err and then it turned off with the standby/on switch flash. I unplugged the reciever to maybe reset the receiver however still flashing. By the way when I was setting up the receiver off the televeision, once it was set up to my settings I unplugged the TV connection from the receiver; also since the receiver is in a tight spot I may have pulled on something but I was very careful.

Try checking your speaker cables as one of them may be touching the case of the amp,or touching another cable, this can cause a short and cause the error message. The amp is protecting itself .

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings.
