The PlayStation 3 (PS3) is a high-definition gaming console that supports both standard AV connections and high-resolution connections (such as HDMI). Most of the older Philips TVs come with a standard AV input. Newer, flat-panel Philips TVs include standard AV inputs and high-resolution inputs. To get the best video quality out of your PS3, using an HDMI connection is recommended if the option is available. The PS3 does not include an HDMI cable, only a standard AV cable

Standard AV

  • 1 Turn off the PS3.
  • 2 Connect the flat end of the PS3 AV cable into the "AV Multi Out" port on the back of the PS3.
  • 3 Connect the "red," "white" and "yellow" prongs on the opposite end of the PS3 AV cable into the corresponding "red," "white" and "yellow" AV inputs on the TV (usually located on the side or in the back).
  • 4 Press the "Source" button on the Philips TV remote.
  • 5 Select the "AV" video display mode.
  • 6 Turn on the PS3. The PS3 logo will appear on the screen.

How do I connect my Philips 32PFL4508 to my Playstation 3 via HDMI?

If it is a newer television it will have one or two HDMI input and that's all you would need each to my will cover will carry video and audio. Going to TV settings and change and put two HDMI in. Then going to your PlayStation turn it off. Push the power button and wait for the second beep. Use your PlayStation remote control and follow the directions click yes to HDMI

How do I connect my Playstation 2 to a Phillips

First, you need to plug in the A/V cable (the cable with the red, yellow, and white tips) to the back of the Phillips TV. There should be color coordinated plugs to go with the cable. After that, plug the other end of the A/V cable to your PS2, and you are good to go with your audio and video.

I have an DVI to HDMI cable running to my Playstation 3. The playstation reconizies the connection. When I search the tv for the connection I connot find it.. The back of the tv says the DVI input is...

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I have the same model TV and I cannot get anything to display from a DVI video source. Anything "pure" HDMI like a DVD player, XBOX 360, or media streamer, work fine. I now have a PC connected to the TV. The PC has an HDMI port and works fine on 2 LCD TVs I have at home but not this one. I'm starting to think it's a wierd HDCP thing.

    No signal

You need to find which is the right channel. It is usually AV2. However make sure you plugged in all the cables to right places. Also, call your cable company and ask them which channel might be, since this new HD tv are so different.

One more thing, If you have a VCR/DVD connected to the TV, you need to check the channel of the VCR/DVD
