NOTE: you may have to remove the front panel to gain access to the tension ring. If that is the case, remove the front panel by removing the screws positioned at each corner (four screws total). hello,

Remove the existing door boot seal being careful to feed out the two tube connections.

attach the new seal and line it up with the tube connections

attach the new seal and line it up with the tube connections

        Slowly
feed in the replacement seal. You will feel the 'lip' on the plastic
casing around the metal washer tub that the seal needs to fit onto. You
know you have it right when the tub can spin freely without rubbing or
        contacting the the seal.

THIS IS THE FRUSTRATING PART. TAKE YOUR TIME AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SEAL PLACED ON THE FRAME COMPLETELY.

Position the replacement door boot seal, careful line up the tube connections, but DO NOT CONNECT the tubes yet.

The door boot seal should have a raised area indicating where you need to line up the tension ring.

Fit the inner tension ring over the door boot seal and reconnect the tubes through the seal.
        IMPORTANT:
make sure the clamp screw is placed on matching its original position.
You need the room on the right hand side to tighten the screw with the
        small screwdriver.

THE NEXT MOST FRUSTRATING PART IS TIGHTENING THE CLAMP SCREW.
Take your time and tighten the clamp while you curse the six sigma black belts at GE who failed to design this part correctly.

        Replace the outer tension ring

Replace the front panel of the washer and tighten all four screws.
Feed the door boot seal through and position it over the outer lip of the front panel.
Replace the outer tension ring and work backwards replacing the top of the washer and the front control panel.
    hope this help?

    Thanks.

SOURCE: door lock error, small click but does not lock door.

Took top panel off washer and unplugged wires from control and plugged them back in and washer works. Found out it would be easier to take top off to replace door switch than doing it from beneath door like I had first done. Also found troubleshooting sheet taped to inside of side panel.

I have a Whirlpool Duet washer. The add garment light is on. The door does not lock when press start. doesn't matter what cycle I try, washer will not start only beep and flash lights.Tried unplugging

If the door lock is not engaging the control will not allow a cycle to start as a safety precaution, so the door lock assembly will need to be replaced if the door will not lock. You can order the new door lock assembly from the link below Genuine 8182634 Whirlpool Washer Door Switch Assembly eBay

WFS1273AW. Why won't it start?

The cycle starts only after the door is closed and locked.
The most usual problem here is that the electric door lock switch is off. You can check it very easily. First of all, cut the electrical supply! Remove the door gasket and unscrew the 2 bolts on your right. These bolts hold the door lock switch. See here for more details to undestand the procedure easier. WE have Kenmore elite He3t Model Nol. 42926 203. We get an error code dL F. How do we correct this?

It is a door lock failure and it flashes after the door locking routine fails to lock the door after 6 attempts. Replace the door lock/latch assembly (part number 8182634) to solve the problem.

Disconnect power to the washer and open the door. Remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening. Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock/latch assembly off the lip of the right side of the door opening. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock/latch assembly behind the front panel.

Remove the three screws securing the door lock/latch assembly to the front panel and slightly lift it then pull it back off the front panel. Pull the door lock/latch assembly out of the washer and disconnect the wiring harnesses.

Connect the wiring harness to the new door lock/latch assembly and install it back in place behind the front panel. the door lock/latch assembly and put the eased part of the door gasket back into position over the lip of the door opening.

Check that the door gasket is properly seated before putting back and securing the retaining hoop around the lip of the door opening and the door gasket.

What is part number for kenmore washer door lock on the washer, not the door. part# 110 44934200

The door lock and switch assembly for your washer is part number 8181700 or 8182634. The part may differ in appearance with the old part in your washer but it is equally functional and authorized by the manufacturer. For the replacement procedure, check it here.

Front Loader not starting...

I have not. I called a repairman and he ended up replacing the main control board and the door lock assembly. Combined with labor and tax came to $304.00. Part number for the control board is 8182221. The door lock assembly part number is 8182634. My washer is working fine now. The repair man wasn't sure if these two parts would do the trick and if not a new relay was needed, that part would be another $140.00. He stated that Whirlpool recommended replacing both parts that he installed at the same time.
I considered buying a new top loader, which would have been cheaper if the relay was needed. Luckily, the relay wasn't needed. Shop around for the parts to get the best price, as the price from place to place can vary greatly. Good Luck!
