Recently replaced bulb, picture is working but now there is an area from the center to the lower left that is slightly darker than the rest of the screen, kind of like a shadow when on.

Turn the brightness up slightly and turn the contrast on the highest setting. There may also be settings to control wether your projectin on a wall or on a screen. Make sure these settings are correct to your setup.
Hi,It seems your ballast(board that powers light bulb) is going weak. The ballast was used to provide a lower voltage because lamp didn't use as much as brand new one. A newer one takes more voltage and when ballast doesn't provide as much power it will flicker or produce a dimmer image.I found the one for your tv here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/1091041-KDS-60A3000-p/1091041.htm?Click=48173 Good luck and God bless you!

The blue LCD panel in the light engine is going bad. The only fix is to replace the light engine. This is an extremely expensive repair. However, Sony has extended the warranty on the light engine only on many of these models. Find a local Sony authorized service center and give them your model and serial number to see if yours qualifies for the warranty.
There are plenty of places that can clean your CCD for you if you can be without the camera for a little bit, but there is also the solution of cleaning the CCD yourself. This is a scary topic, however, because a) if you do it, it will void your manuf. warranty, if applicable and b) if you do it and mess it up, your CCD can be damaged.
There are products out there - swabs and solutions - to clean the CCD if you choose to do so yourself. Personally, to make certain that nothing goes wrong, I would send it to Nikon or take it to your local dealer and have them take a look at it.
Uh Oh! blue screen of death. Your light engine has warped
a little from overheating and is distorting the picture.
My suggestion to you is to get
on the phone with hitachi and start complaining, then keep complaining
until they agree to pay for it. You may have to get the problem
diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.
Chances are that you are not hurting anything with the lower power supply. What is probably happening is most likely two fold.
1. The light bulbs in the backlight circuit may just be wearing out and need replacement, and
2. the lower current power supply may not be capable of producing al the current that the monitor needs at certain times during operation.
I would suggest getting hold of the correct power supply module and see where that gets you. If you still have the red outs, replace the light bulbs in the monitor. The only other fault than that would have to be in the video controller.
Hope this helps.
Sounds like the Bulb is almost out of life or a dustball or something is moving around inside the light compartment. Look in the instruction or user manual on replaceing bulb or opening bulb compartment or call Mits. for a service center in your area. Good Luck
