Hello, my LG TV will not reset to its factory settings even when I select In Store settings reset. The colors were changed by my daughter while playing with the remote now I cannot get them back to normal.

On the main copy display your device is probably set to the factory defaults which means that when you press reset the device is in "AUTO COLOR". Touch the "AUTO COLOR" tab on the screen and a drop down menu will show. Select "BLACK AND WHITE". Now press the "ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS"key. Select COPY SETTINGS located at the top right. There is no details about the factory reset of your tV in its user manual. But intvidual reset for picture, sound etc can be selected and can be reset to factory reset.

Summary of picture settings

• [Brightness]: Adjusts the intensity and details of dark areas.

the TV speakers are disabled and TV sound outputs to the speakers

You can activate a Picture Setting by making a selection from the menu.

Your Tv may be misadjusted by any way I thinks. Set all the modes to factory defaults. To set it to factory defaults do the folloing:

1 Press HOME MENU
2 Select "Option with (UP or DOWN button then ENTER)
3 Select RESET with (UP or DOWN button then ENTER)

confirmation screen appears. Press [ => or then press ENTER

This process will reset all the parameters to factory set levels. You have to adjust the Parential controls and other parameters by yourself later.

You haven't mentioned the model no. of your TV. Nonetheless, the reset procedure for the model nos. 42PFL7409/98 / 42PFL7409S/98 goes like this:

1- Press Home,
2- Select [Setup] > [Installation] > [Factory
settings],
3- Press play to enter the [Factory settings]
menu
[Reset] is highlighted,
4- Press OK to reset to default settings.
5- Press Home to exit.
The reset procedure may differ for other model nos.

Furthermore, Press the "Menu" button to access the menu, and select "TV Settings" and then "Picture" to bring up the picture settings. Adjust the color, brightness, sharpness and other settings if the picture seems off. Select "Dynamic Contrast" to have the contrast adjust to screen changes and "Digital Noise Reduction" to cut down on outside interference and reduce noise in the signal. On the "Installation" menu, select "Reset AV Settings" to have the settings reset to their factory defaults.

Do a reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. I have an LG LCD TV with the same problem.
The solution is to go to
MENU
OPTIONS
FACTORY RESET
And select HOME rather than STORE on initial setup.
Mine was set to store as it was a display model.
That means that whatever picture setting you make they will reset after 10 minutes.

You cannot unlock the TV without the remote. It will require a numeric password that you gave it and that can be only done with the remote. You can get a universal remote to do this without waiting for a replacement from LG/ZENITH
