Juicer heating and pulp is wrapping around blades

I juice all kinds of leafy greens like kale, lettuce, spinach, sprouts; broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and the harder vegetables such as carrots, beets, celery, etc. I like the posting by Lisa in Jan. am finding that I have to put too much pressure to get the pulp moving.  So now I decided to clean the blade half way through my process which is a drag.  I have also tried to do the harder vegetables in between the leafy ones.  I always do the celery last as its strings wrap around the blade. Do I need a new blade?  Juicer is about 8 years old but has not been used a lot till this last May.  It is now in daily use making at least 24-30 ounces of juice. Also, the white cover that holds the screen in place has a minor fracture nearest the machine.  I would rather have it replaced before I am unable to use it.  The juicer is a daily necessity in our health regime.  I am in BC.  Where do I get a replacement? Thanks so much for your prompt reply. Eddie

Parts from Champion website. You may need a new cutter, sometimes cheaper on ebay.

  • Cut stringy veggies like celery and kale stalks into one inch lengths.
  • Champion makes a greens and wheat grass attachment if you want to pay more money.
  • It is normal for the squeezer to get hot because of friction during the squeezing process. Without the long veggie strings wrapping around the cutter it will become less hot as fresh cool pulp will be able to pass through more easily.
  • You should even be able to juice wheat grass if you cut it into short enough sections with scissors.

My juice is coming out with the pulp. The machine seems to be operating and sounding normal and this has never happened before. I have the omega 8005 model??

This usually is indication of pulp backing up in the machine make sure you are pre cutting the produce and also make sure the tensioner on the end is adjusted according tot he produce being used. Example: softer produce requires less tension where as leafy green vegetables you can increase the tensioner.

Pulp is building up, not ejecting properly

When juicing with the champion juicer take it slow. You need to hold down the tamper for three to five seconds in-between reloading the chute. Otherwise it will begin to back up through the chute and the juicer will begin to heat up. Happy juicing! LivingaHealthyandHappyLife.com

No problem. question: can you juice wheat grass with the breville juicer?

Not really. You'll get wet pulp and a big mess to clean, not to mention the waste of your expensive products. Here's why-

When i juice greens i am no longer getting any juice from them. is my blade dull?

If you mean green leafy greens, the juicer is
not really designed for them. A sharp blade
will extract some juice from them, but I found
a new blade seems to increase the vibration
issue. Acme works best on carrots, apples,
celery, etc.

I juice mainly green vegetables: kale, spinach, etc, then carrots -and it doesn't have enough power, slows down and then stops - any idea why?

Sorry, but it's not designed for leafy vegetables.
Carrots, apples, celery-yes. For kale, spinach
try a inexpensive, hand powered, wheat grass
juicer. About $50.

Can't find the manual and have forgotten how to take it apart to clean it

Most juicers have a retention rod or side snaps that hold the top of the juicer in place. By loosening these, it will allow you to get underneath the juicer cap top. Once you have done this, you will have to remove the juice/ pulp wheel blade. Your juicer should have come with a two pin tool that facilitates this. Use the tool to loosen the juice /pulp wheel blade. Once you have done this, you should be able to remove the outer juice capture rim with that has the spout on one end. I hope this helps. Good luck and happy juicing.

Sometimes it will spin out of control the lid pops off and its scary! This seems to happen when I juice cucumbers even though I take the seeds out. Yesterday I juiced lettuce leaves, celery (2 sticks),...

DROP THE FILTERS. FRUITS AND VEGETABLES HAVE TO BE FED SLOW
AND STEADY. IF THE JUICER IS OLD THE
GAP BETWEEN BLADE AND CHUTE MAY
BE TO WIDE LETTING LARGER PIECES
THRU AND THROWING IT OUT OF
BALANCE. USING ONE FOR 19 YEARS
AND THEY ARE TRICKY.

Shuts itself off when juicing

FIRST DUMP THE FILTERS, THEY DECREASE YIELD AND MAY CAUSE MORE VIBRATION.
IF JUICER SHUTS DOWN PUSH RESET BUTTON ON BOTTOM. THIS TYPE OF JUICER DOES
NOT EJECT PULP AND REQUIRES SOME TIME TO MASTER. FEED THE STUFF SLOW AND
STEADY. WANT A GOOD JUICE? TRY 1 APPLE, 2 CARROTS, 2 CELERY AND A HALF LEMON.
IF YOU ARE REALLY BRAVE YOU CAN FINISH OFF BY SLOWLY POURING 6 OR 8 OUNCERS
OF WATER RIGHT DOWN THE CHUTE. THIS NOT ONLY DILUTES BUT LEECHES MORE JUICE
OUT OF THE PULP. JUICE SHOULD BE DILUTED AND DRANK SLOWLY.
