This is a generic type answer, but, most of these washers have a pump to pump out the water. If some small thing like a hairpin gets in there it will collect lint and plug the outlet of the pump. Or the impeller to the pump may break. Access the pump, remove it, and look for the problem there. Make sure the belt drive to it is working or it will pump no water. I hope this helps. I assume you meant by "plugged drain", that no water is getting pumped out. I have seen this problem in Kenmore washers in the past.

F21 error means that the drain time has exceeded 8 minutes; this will turn off the water valves. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display. If errors still remains then please check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. Disassemble the washer by removing the back from the washer and check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is draining. Also inspect the pump filter for foreign objects. Before disassembling remember to turn off the power and disconnect the washer. If it still doesn't help then there is an issue with the pump and you'll need to replace it. Hope this helps... It sounds like you have something stuck in the pump.
To repair
Unplug machine.
Remove bottom front panel(remove 2-3 screws in the bottom) Pull bottom of panel out and down to remove.
Towards the center bottom you will see the pump. On the front is a round thing that resembles a filter. This is the pump filter screen...Get a shallow pan to put under screen. Turn lid counter clockwise to remove(turn slowly and allow water to drain. As you may need to dump pan several times before all water is drained out. Be carful or you could end up with water everywhere. Once the water is drained pull out screen and remove the debris and objects stuck in screen and filter housing you should also be able to see the impeller on the pump inspect for debris. Once everything is cleaned out reverse removal procedures put back together.

remove panel on bottom usually three screws will remove panel then u can look inside to find leak.. check the drain pump for leaks or debri inside pump by removing cap u willl see down there... hope this helps

how did the underwire get there, you may want to remove lower panel please unplug washer before removing panel use a flash light there is a area were coins and other objects fall in to also have a bucket there well be water in the lower unit use something to fish it out lucky it did not get caught in pump

it stands for longer than normal drain interval,press "pause/cancel" twice to clear, if it returns then look for obstructions in the water drain from the basket all the way to the drain in the house,or possibly it could be a bad washer drain pump

"F21" is a Long Drain error. This occurs when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes. You will need to remove the bottom panel under the door by removing the two screws at the bottom edge of the panel. First, check the electrical connections to the drain pump and make sure the pump is running. Check the drain pump filter to make sure it is not clogged with debris. This is a very common problem. HINT: Before removing the drain pump filter, pull the drain hoses from the standpipe at the wall and use a shop vac to pull a vacuum on the drain hose to get rid of all residual water from the pump and drain lines. This is also a good way to get rid of minor clogs. If you do not own a shop vac, be prepared to lay down some old towels and soak up some water. There's quite a bit of residual water in the wash tub and lines (this is normal). In addition, check your drain hoses to make sure they are not clogged or kinked. If you check everything and still have the error code, replace the drain pump. Replacement parts can be found at searspartsdirect.com and repairclinic.com. did you clean pump out by removing acess port on front end of pump? also you can ckd pump impeller by removing screws around pump body impeller will free wheel but should have some resistance to turning by hand if no water in tub reinstall pump put in drain spin to see if drum will spin if it does forget main motor ..motor is most reliable par on those washers
