Anybody know how to remove the water filter on a Kenmore Elite Coldspot fridge? Model # is 106.52699100. I tried the "twist and turn" action to remove the filter, but it seems stuck. No button to push for any release either.
thanks!
I had the same problem. I coudn't get the knob to turn. I ended up taking the front grill off so I could get a better grip on the knob. Once I did that I still have to put a lot of pressure on the knob to turn it but that did the trick. When I got it turned a quarter turn then it was easy to pull the filter out. Hope this helps!
I have a Kenmore Coldspot and re the water filter - getting it out isn't a problem, it's getting one back in. I have had to use a pair of pliers to apply sufficient force to turn the filter. RIGHT NOW - I am trying to change a filter BUT I can't get the new one to turn. The filters are NOT precision made.

Where's water filter on kenmore coldspot model 106.54563300?
Well… you know, all you have to do is Google the manual for instructions. Filter is at the bottom where the baseplate grill is. If the release button is stuck, so the filter doesn’t pop out, you have to open the fridge doors to get the baseplate grill off. Again, see the manual. Fulcrum from the top of the plate & rotate the bottom of the grill forward, toward you (basically flip it up from the bottom). Then you will be able to access the release for the filter much easier. If will be obvious from there.
