Based on your information posted I understand you have the Maytag Epic washer, correct ? The F21 error on these built by Whirlpool means an excessive drain time or excessive suds was detected as you may or may not already know.

If you follow the link to my solution to this error designed specifically for "do-it-yourselfers" you should be fixed up in no time. (It's much quicker for me than pasting or retyping the complete solution several hundred times, that's how common this is).

This will also instruct how to unlock the unit...though once the water is gone it likely will unlock without issue, if it is at all an issue. Many times it is, but it's just a by-product of not draining correctly.

The following list of codes indicates an electronics communication problem with the washer: * Epic® washer - F05, F07, F09, F10, F11, F13, F14, F15, F21, F22, and FdU
* Epic ZTM washer - F01, F11, F23, F24, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, and F33


To remove the error display, press Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel twice.



If Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel does not work:

1. Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.
2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.

NOTE: If the error remains on the display, call for service.

Hello the error code F with a DL is usually a clogged or kink in the drain line.
Unplug washer and remove drain hose and clean it out.

Check area where Line connects to washer closley for any debris and remove it.

The "F24" error code is a heat sensor error code. The following link explains the error code in detail and the steps to correct it:

In many cases, the connector plug on the NTC sensor wiggles loose and causes the error code. Check the NTC connection first to make sure it is tight and making good contact. This may save you a service call and/or replacement parts. Make sure you UNPLUG the washer before servicing anything inside the unit.

A replacement NTC module (if required) can be purchased at searspartsdirect.com for about $10. The part number is 8181705. Refer to the parts illustrations under the "Tub and Basket Parts" heading for item 26 as a pictoral reference to assist you in locating the sensor on your washer.

I know the link I provided is for a Whirpool Duet. The newer model Maytags (such as yours) are manufactured by Whirlpool now and have Whirpool parts. These instructions should work for you.

The "F" code indicates an electrical problem, possibly a faulting part. Maytag does not offer any guidance on this. FYI - Could be a bad control board

i also have a magtag epic z &f 24 error code is on my washer. i don't know what to do.
