first install twain driver to ur pc and just open the microsoft world and go to the insert tab and then selct picture then 'from sacanner or camera'
or goto start-programs-microsoft office tools-documebt image scanning
the main part of the kit is a dimm card. the dimm has the fax/scan/print stored on it. the problem adding this to your machine is drivers, only twain scanning, no scan to folerd, no internet faxing, no winodws 7 drivers. if you get a whole kit you need to add the fax pcb and also get the nic for it to scan properly. good luck
you will need the copier hooked to a network and able to get out to the internet. You will need a email account like comcast.mail.net and password if your mail server has authetication. On the ricoh go to USER TOOLS buttom choose SYSTEM SETTINGS - FILE TRANSFER-SMTP and enter the setting there good luck
Does your machine have a document feeder on it? If so, turn off and unplug the machine from the wall, and check in back of the machine to see if the feeder is plugged into the unit properly. Try reseating the document feeder plug to ensure good contact. Plug the machine back into the wall and turn it on. If it detects the document feeder, fax and scan functions should be restored.
To use the scan to email function on your copier you need some settings from your internet provider (email setting specifically). Go into Outlook options and get your SMTP server, user name and password.
On your copier you need to change under User tools, system setting and file transfer and put these settings in. As long as your machine is set up for scan to folder thats all you should need.
