Either your laptop had gone to sleep or hibernate mode. You can set the timers under Power Options on the Control Panel for the laptop to go on sleep mode or hibernate mode if idle for span of time.
You can wake up the laptop by touching the touchpad, pressing a key or pressing the power button.
However, if above options will not work, the only option for you is to press and hold the power button for at least 5 seconds to completely turn off the unit. Try to power on the computer if it will boot up okay.
***ADDITIONAL NOTES FOR CASE TO CASE BASIS**
If you still get black screen, remove the battery and the ac adapter (charger) then press the power button for at least 20 seconds to discharge power in the motherboard. You can now reinsert the battery and power on the system normally.
***NOTE: If the computer will not boot up, the LCD or the motherboard might have failed.
please follow the following instructions i hope this helps
Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and media cards. You want to test the computer not the accessories!
Disconnect the AC power adapter, remove the battery, and then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds .
Reconnect the AC power adapter (but do not connect the battery), Press the Power button, Look for glowing LEDs near caps lock and num lock keys, and Listen for sounds of a disk drive and fan turning
Actually 1 blink of Caps Lock and Num Lock refers that CPU is not functional.
However, to confirm the same. Please remove the battery and check whether it is getting power on only on ac adapter. If it is not then it is the motherboard which is gone bad and if it power on then you need to change the battery only.
Also, there was a recall from hp on some of the models which have same symptoms like you but your model is not covered in that. So its better to take the part no. of motherboard and replace it. If you could provide me the product no of the laptop then I can find the same for you.
Try power draining your computer first. remove battery and ac adapter, then press and hold power button for 15-20 sec. Expect no response since there is no power source. After that, try if pc will now turn on. If it still wont, possibly it will be needing a motherboard replacement.
hi try this first, unplug the adapter/power cord, then remove the battery from the laptop, next press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds or so, install the battery back into the laptop and power up as normal, repeat this again if the laptop dose not boot up you should at least get the mainboard bios to come up. let me know how it turns out.good luck ken
I got this Hp TX2110us when it came up which i hardly use (bought at Fry's). But one time while using it Before Christmas, it jusy shuts down completely. I tried removing the battery and jusy use the AC adapter (has voltage) but no light at all anywhere. The power slide switch won't do a thing. Please anyone know aboutthis??
You live in the US, right? First check the voltage rating on your power supply / charger's primary voltage range. If it states around 110V only, then you need a transformer from 230V to 110V with an euopean plug. Make sure it's a real transformer (rather heavy, rated at ~100VA will be OK), and not a lightweight high-power adaptor, used for lamps, pressing irons, heaters and similar appliances. If on your charger it states something like "90-240V", then it will cope with the standard european voltage of 230V, and the only thing you need is a travel adapter that will have an european plug on one side and an american socket on the other.
The problem is in the GPU this defective chp is verheating and causing the WLANt fail and then it gets the solder joints loose on the board causng no video. It is a rather easy fix if yu are ok with removing your own motherboard. If interested I am willing to do the fix for anyone that has one of these machines. I have one and completed the fix on mine and 4 other machines. If interested email me at [email protected] thanks and good luck.
