Some times the battery contact need to be pulled out a little bit. they are located down inside the battery compartment. You can stick a small screwdriver under the battery contact and bend it upward for better contact. If that doesn't work try removing the back cover and tightening the grounding screw, which is a silver screw located by the motor pulley hole. Sometimes this screw loosens up and then the ground is lost to the entire unit
This could be as simple as a connector working loose. You need to open the radio by removing the 4 screws in the back of the case (2 are under the handle, and one is in the battery compartment). These screws are identified by a small arrow pointing at the screw hole. Once the screws are out, gently pry the bottom out first (the top has the catches in it), then pull down slightly and remove the back side of the case. there will be one wire on a connector going to the battery compartment you will have to disconnect before the back of the case is entirely free.
After the case is open you will have access to the connectors on the RF board. Make sure all 4 connectors are fully seated. There is another connector under the RF board going to the processor/display board you will need to check if the other 4 connectors are OK. You need to remove the 5 screws holding the main board in place so you can remove it to check the last connector.
You do not need to reassemble the radio to check to see if this has worked. You can plug the AC adapter in and test by pressing the power button.
If this does not work, there is a fuse you can check. These rarely fail, but it is possible. The fuse is located near the external power receptacle, and is mounted on the component side of the audio/potentiometer board. This is the circuit board with the volume, bass, and treble controls on it. You will be looking at the solder side of this board, but by tilting the radio up (with the back cover off) you cann see enough under the board to see the fuse. You can pop it out of its holder and check with an ohm meter.
To remove the radio of your car, follow the process below:
Turn the vehicle off and disconnect the negative battery terminal cable from the car battery before working on the radio.
Take
off the dash trim area around the car radio. You may need to use the
flat head screwdriver to carefully pry the paneling and trim off. Some cars use plastic clips or screws to hold the dash trim in place. Locate any clips or screws and remove them.
Use
the Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew each of the screws holding the
car radio in place. Most car radios are held in place by four screws,
one on each corner. After removing each screw, carefully slide out the
entire car radio.
Disconnect
the wiring harness, main power supply and ground wire from the back of
the radio. You may also need to disconnect any antenna connections or
speaker connections.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an
accidental short circuit. Remove the plastic trim piece to
the left of the glove box and (1) phillips screw exposed.
Unsnap the top edge of the knee bolster panel. Remove
(1) phillips screw from the panel. Remove the ashtray
cluster and (2) phillips screws from each side. Unclip the
entire dash trim bezel and remove.Open doors and
unsnap end caps from each side of dash. Unsnap and
remove radio/instrument cluster panel. Remove (3)
screws in order to remove radio.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an
accidental short circuit. Unsnap and remove dash bezel.
Remove (3) 9/32" screws and remove radio.

Unclip and remove cup holder and
ashtray assembly.
3
Unclip and remove the trim panel
above the glove box including the a/c
vent.
4
Unclip and remove the entire panel
surrounding the radio including the a/c
vents.

Remove (6) 9/32” screws to extract
radio from dash.
Well you need to remove the center instrument panel then disconnect the connectors behind it then remove the 4 screws that hold the radio in and unplug the connectors behind it. You might have to take your truck to the dealer to get your radio programmed to your truck that is right around the year that was one of the procedures. So if you change your radio and things in your truck start acting goofy and the radio doesn't work cantact your local Ford dealer with that question. Good luck.
Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, small flatblade screwdriver, rachet with 6 inch extension & 10mm socket.
1. Remove negative battery terminal (for stray voltage & airbags.)
2. Remove gear shift trim
3. Remove cable attached to lighter socket.
4. Remove center climate control knob and screw beneath it.
5. Gently pry both bottom corners of climate control face (up then towards the rear) until clear of lock.
6. Pull entire climate control console rearward until clips release. Leave all wiring attached.
7. Remove 4 bolts under radio (10mm.)
8. Gently pry between dash and AC ducting panel (both sides) and pull out.
9. 4 clip hold radio to ducting panel, gently pry while pulling radio out the back.
The rest should be easy...
9. 4 clips hols radio to
look on the duct work near the fan ... you should see a connector that fits into the duct work...the part is held in be two or three screws. remove that part and replace it.
You should also have a fuse in the back of the radio. Check that fuse as well. You should be able to eject the disk if you hook the red wire to positive on your battery and black wire to your negative on the battery.
To remove the cd manually. If you have a removable face, there should be a pin hole under the face. Remove the face and use a straight paper clip to manually eject the disk.
