I loaded my washer (a 2004 machine) with clothes; a few shirts and pants then closed. When pushing the Start/Pause button it gives me an OP warning meaning the machine is open but it is not! I have tried to press the lid in the hope of 'closing' it but the message is not going away. I have tried to unplug it and then unplug again with no success. Please help.
Sincerely
Charles.

hard to say--- kids pants and shirts or 5xl pants and shirts
best gauge is just to drop the clothes in loose and when they are around near the top of the agitator , that is a load
Had that problem for a while with mine, It seemed to do it once in a while....then we stopped putting our jeans/pants in with the rest of the colors. and it stopped happening. we was our pants seperatly with them zipped and buttoned now, have not had anymore ripped or torn clothes since.
Hope it helps.
First I would start by cleaning your washer system with vinegar. Ran your machine like you would without clothes and pour a cup of vinegar like you would with the soap for a whole cycle. If this doesn't work chances are your drain is clog or your pump isn't working properly.
Are you sure the door is closed properly? Give it an extra push. The start/pause button could also be damaged/faulty. Try switching the machine off at the wall socket and on again.
