It was simple once I figured it out. Connect your phone to a Windows computer with the media cable. Open Windows Explorer [Right Click on the Windows Start button on an XP machine] Go to: My Computer\SCH-I500A\External Storage\DCIM\Camera. All pictures not saved to SD card should appear. Select pictures to copy and paste into your My Documents/pictures folder on your PC.

All of these suggestions are really complicated for the average non-tech savvy user, so let's skip that...

Ok. Your Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 phone can support upto a 32 GB microSD card. After buying either a 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB or 32GB microSD card

How to insert, remove, or replace microSD card in your Samsung Galaxy GT i9000 phone
How to Insert Remove or Replace Memory Card in your Samsung Galaxy GT...

(step by step with pictures)
How to move pictures and videos to an SD card Samsung Android 4 2 Smart...

(step by step within a YouTube video)
Copying Files to Micro SD Card Samsung Galaxy 4 Sprint SPH L720

How to transfer files from Micro SD card to Laptop
How to Download Micro SD Card to Laptop

once you get the hang of it.. it won't look complex at all.

Other suggestions which have caveats:

1. connecting data cable from device to PC:
many non-techies have issues with device drivers, finding the right directories on the phone, fear of deleting files they shouldn't be touching on the phone which might cause problems with apps installed.. but mostly just getting lost on the computer

2. using dropbox is my favorite goto, however for non-techies: installing dropbox on the computer and the software on the computer when syncing auto downloads all the files in the cloud to the computer.. for some people that is an annoyance due to limited space or just because it's not wanted. you can access files from the browser on the computer, which i use mostly, but for non-techies it is something else they have to learn to use, which i find many non-techies not using.

3. emailing files to self is tedious, has limitations for use, some email clients can not send certain types of files.. you can get around this by installing apps but most non-techies don't want to bother with this because it is too advanced for them.

4. using another software program to transfer files is frustrating because you have to understand the specific instructions and how the software is transferring files to your computer. is it backing up all files, the whole phone, grouping all files into one file. how to extract your single files after the transfer, etc.

Tore my hair out trying to make sure the driver for my S II was in my computer, plugged in USB, still could not move pictures, Kies said "must be in PC studio mode" Just for the hell of it, unplugged USB cord, opened Googles "picasa " photo site, BINGO ! picasa recognized my new S II

The best camera everybody has, I guess, is the one that built in a smartphone, for example, Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4/G3, HTC One M9/M8. The sense in that is simple - it's handy and people LOVE to carry them around. The other side of the coin is, all photos in one phone are with no doubt risky. If your device get lost or stolen, pictures accidentally deleted or missed after system upgrade, or the SD card broke which means you will never get back that photos you stored in your phone for months or years without a chance of taking a last look. Besides, it takes up too much memory. Therefore, to back up images regularly is very necessary. In this guide, let's see how to transfer photos from Android to PC. In case you need it, we will also go over the process of export them back to your Android device.

To back up pictures from Android devices to computer, we can turn to Android photos recovery. Besides, you can transfer photos back from PC or Mac to Android smartphones and also help on How to recover lost photos from Samsung galaxy/note. You can also delete all pictures on your phone in batch or add new pictures to the device with the help of this program.

Most of us take photos with smartphones everywhere we go. But how much do we really know about transferring those pictures from cell phone to computer. There are a variety of ways to do this. Let's find a way that best suites your phone on the following description.

Plug your device (make sure the device is on) or memory card reader (make sure your pictures are saved to the memory card) into your computer.
Click "My Computer" and find a new drive that has the brand/model of your mobile phone's name. Double-click on it and you should see a folder with the name "Photos" or "images". Drag and drop them to your desktop or a new folder.

3 Methods to Transfer Contacts from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy

Note: Some Android devices can not connect with computers at the first try. If your PC has trouble detecting your handset, you'll need to unplug it from the USB port and try again.

SOURCE: how do i transfer photos

First install a program called Samsung Kies on your computer, it should come bundled with your phone on a CD but if not you can find it on the internet very easy (google "samsung kies download"). After you have installed this, use your USB-cable that you got with your phone - plug one end in to the phone and insert the other into your computers USB-port.
Good luck! And please if you do find this answer helpful give it thumbs up :)
