There should've been a restore disc that came with the computer. If you have it you will be able to restore drivers offline. If it didn't come with one you may have a model where the back up/restore disc needs to be burned from the hdd.

Toshiba A105-S2712 Won't Recognize The Wireless Connection

Have you installed the driver for the router that you are using or using the inbuilt windows program to search for your wireless network?

If windows, are you searching all channels or is it set to only find unsecure networks whilst i assume yours is secure?

I reformatted my tosh. satellite, what happened to my wireless? why am i not able to find my adaptor in device manager?

Did you reinstall from the Toshiba-supplied "System Recovery" CD-ROM, or from some other "retail" Windows XP CD-ROM ?

The Toshiba CD-ROM contains the device-driver.
Toshiba's web-site also contains the device-driver,
for use in a situation like yours.

Within Device Manager, look at the "Unknown Devices" branch.
Expand that branch, then double-click on the '?' device,
and choose "reinstall driver", and allow Windows to connect,
via Ethernet cable connected to a router, or to a cable-modem, or to an ADSL-modem, to the Internet to find and download the correct driver.

When Gateway Laptop is powered up after shutdown it is necessary to reset the network adaptor using Windows repair process before it will connect to the web. Can I replace the adaptor and if not can I buy...

You will find the driver is corrupted download the network driver and reinstall is first choice.
You may delete the driver in system properties and hardware then let windows reinstall the network driver.
Yes you may also install the USB network adaptor.
If the wireless device inside the laptop is Intel download from the Intel website.
Remove the plate from the bottom of laptop to obtain the brand and model.
Hope this helps you.
PS. system defragment should be done once a week

Toshiba Satellite P105-T2050 - DVD player does not work

You can check the BIOS to see if the drive is recognized and even attempt to boot from the drive using a bootable CD to verify it is functional (if using the Windows disc - just verify it reads - DO NOT REINSTALL)

If the drive works use the following to get the drive back in Windows:

Always backup your registry before editing and use care to find exact key!
Start Registry Editor (Start, Run and type in regedit then click)

Find "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" (and "UpperFilters.bak" "LowerFilters.bak", if they exist) value under the following key in the registry, and delete it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Quit Registry Editor.

Reboot.

NOTE: You might need to reinstall any CD recording apps you have, if they start to not work completely, after doing this.

How to install XP in toshiba Satellite L45-S7423 laptop

You cannot uninstall Windows Vista, but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall your old operating system, you must have the original installation disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain the hard disk space used by Windows Vista, reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.
