Thinking it will have to be opened and check out if the volume is engaging the internal volume controller. My guess is a gear that engages the volume/tuner knob has failed or a screw has come loose.

there are numerous volumes - in-call (which you can only increase/decrease while sspeaking to someone) media -volume (which a game or music has to be playing to change) and the phone volume (which all other programs must not be running through the volume.

Go to control panel > sounds and audio devices properties, in there make sure its not muted, also check speaker volume and click the advanced button for the mixer.

you need to activate it from volume panel. go to Options then properties. from the properties panel just check everything applying to mic like "mic volume" "front micro" so on and it'll appear in the volume panel. from the volume panel just disable mute to activate the mic

TRY CHANGEING THE MONO STERO MODE IN THE AUDIO MENU. ALSO CHECK TO SEE IF YOU ARE IN MUTE MODE AND INTERNAL SPEAKERS ARE TURNED ON.
