Hi, My machine heats the water during the whole wash stage continuously on any temperature setting other than zero. It goes through the cycles on cold (even not taking in hot water when filling before the wash stage which seems good). So, as the machine cooks the clothes when set on a positive temperature, I am only using it cold. Would this be a faulty thermostat (or are there other components that could cause this problem) and could the problem be rectified by myself - having normal handyman skills. Thanks, Ian Roberts
Hi Asko Man, Thanks for your thoughts. The glass door gets too hot to touch if you don't turn the temperature dial to zero during the wash stage. Is the thermostat accesible from the back of the machine and is this a handyman-friendly job? Is it possible that this fault might also cause the timer to rapidly advance to the end of a cycle when the temperature dial is set on other than zero as there seems to be a pattern of the machine working on cold properly but doing the rapid rotation thing when set at other than zero. The washer fills with cold water then heats it up 3 degrees a min. Your problem does sound like a faulty thermostat. Especailly if the glass door does get hot even if it is on 85f.

The water is not heating resulting in only cold wash cycles
