I too have the same problem with the DC-DC board on the Sharp AVC. But I didn't spend the $134 for a replacement board (MCM or Newark). Instead, I used the reflow technique by placing the circuit board in the oven for 7 minutes at 475F. You need to cover the plastic header connectors (about 7 of them) with foils to protect them from direct heat (and melt). Take the board out of the oven and give a little pressure on all the ICs while the board is hot. Let it cool down and voila! The TV is working again...
NEVER put anything metal in the microwave. If your chocolate was in aluminum foil no wonder it arced. That is very hard on the microwave.
If the metal were in PERFECT contact, then it would not arc, however that condition is unlikely. Just touching doesn't count... If it was welded and could not touch other metal or the walls, you MIIGHT get away with it.
When Baker told you to put it in a bowl, that MEANS the bare chocolate.
ALSO NEVER put bowls that have metalic trim as the trim will arc to itself.
Hey Robert, Sounds like it could be in need of a maintenece kit. The ghostinf is usually caused from the fuser or transfer roller. And that would also apply to the band down the page.
FK is Fuser Kit. You can check supply status by hitting P * C * then 22 start then 1 start. You can scroll down pages. Alot of the numbers displayed will make no sense to you, because they are values not meter counts.
Open the Left side door and remove the fuser unit by unscrewing the large green wheel located under the frame on the left side door below the fuser unit. Lift the fuser unit using the handles front and rear sides. (be careful it is very hot). Set the fuser unit on a table or counter or desk. Look carefully at the left side, as it sits in the machine, near the middle. You should see a actuator for a sensor. Make sure both ends of the arm are in the holes where they shoud be. If it is out of place, put it back into place and carefully place the fuser unit back in the machine. Secure the fuser back in the left door and close the door.
