Mirror lock The mirror lock won't unlock. The large gear that engages with the gear behind the mirror lock knob will not rotate. If you turn the knob counterclockwise the knob will back off away from the plastic flange, and if you turn it clockwise, as if to unlock the mirror, the knob will return toward the flange but then it stops and you can't turn it any more. If I unhook the coarse focus knob then the mirror lock gear will turn freely, but the mirror turns with it.

What should pwr ant knob be adjusted to?

The PWR/AMT knob:
PWR: Variable RF Output Power. The transmitted power of the Magnum S-6 may be varied from 0 to 40 watts peak in all modes. Rotate clockwise to increase RF output power. Rotate counterclockwise to decrease RF output power.
AMT: All Mode Talk Back. AMT, a Magnum exclusive, is an independent talk back monitor. The AMT functions in all modes and allows the operator to monitor the trans- mitted audio of the Magnum S-6. To increase the vol- ume of the talk back rotate the control clockwise. To decrease rotate counterclockwise. To turn off the talk back rotate the control completely counterclockwise.

How do I engage the bobbin winding gear for Pfaff 7570?

To disengage the needle while winding a bobbin do the following: the handwheel on the right end of the machine has an inner knob. hold the outer rim of the handwheel stationary as you rotate the inner knob counterclockwise. Also make sure the bobbin winding peg is pushed over to the right and the bobbin is seated on the peg.

How does the lift and turn stopper come out so we can clean plugged drain?

  • Push the stopper down to fully seal the stopper against the tub drain.

  • 2

Turn the knob on top of the stopper counterclockwise with your fingers. Do not lift the stopper while turning the knob. Remove the knob from the stopper.

  • 3

Insert a large flathead screwdriver into the slot on the center shaft of the stopper. You will see the center shaft when you remove the knob. Turn the shaft counterclockwise to unthread it from the retaining hole in the bathtub drain basket.

  • 4

Use a pair of vise-grip pliers to turn the shaft if the center hole has corrosion and will not accept a screwdriver. Lock the jaws of the pliers securely around the shaft, and turn the shaft counterclockwise.

  • 5

Pull the stopper out of the tub by lifting it by the shaft.

    Starter grinding

You must take off the right hand engine cover and after unscrewing CLOCKWISE the main bolt that holds the flywheel you need a special KTM puller to pull out the stator rotor (flywheel).Behind that there is a group of parts that you should replace. The large sprocket, the clutch system that the large sprocket is into (special formed balls in a spring) and the hub that is screwed behind the flywheel.Use OEM parts (even for the 5mm allen screws if they need to be renewed).Use 18Nm for those allen screws adding locking nut adhesive on their threads (Locktite).
Work backwords to reinstall it and the flywheel's main bolt uses 120Nm of torque to tight it up on the crankshaft COUNTERCLOCKWISE.Use new gasket for the engine case and 12Nm for the bolts.

    Focus?

The C8 optical tube has a very large focal range. It should be capable of focusing on objects from 15' to infinity. To focus on object at infinity you have to move the primary mirror foward. You do this by rotating the focus knob CCW. Rotate the knob CCW until it comes toa stop them slowly bring the mirror back by rotating the knob CW while viewing the object. It will snap to focus so don't move too fast yor you'll miss it.

    Washing machne problem

The help that you gave me was completely wrong. The support ring was okay. I solved my problem by buying a new timer and control knobs. The teflong 'gears' were worn out so the knobs rotated freely.

    Mirror lock

Possibly the shaft has jammed. Follow this link for a source of good information: http://www.mapug-astronomy.net/AstroDesigns/MAPUG/ArhvList.htm

    From their files:
The locking knob has a gear on the inside end of its shaft. It engages teeth on the outside edge of a large metal disk connected to the mechanism that locks the position of the mirror on the central baffle tube. Rotating the locking knob one direction rotates the large disk to tighten the collet on the central baffle. Reversing direction loosens it.
The teeth do not extend all the way around the large disk. So sometimes the locking knob gear jams to a stop before the lock is fully engaged. Soon after the GPS scopes first started shipping Buck Harley discovered that in such cases you can remove the locking knob with its shaft and gear, then reach in and rotate the large disk with your finger. Replacing the locking knob will now allow sufficient rotation to fully engage the lock. If you happen to move the large disk in the wrong direction, then just repeat the process and move the disk in the other direction.
You don't need to tighten the lock down hard. Just a little snug is enough. You should not attempt to use the coarse focus knob while the mirror is locked. Damage to the focusing mechanism could result.
This design is intended to precisely hold the mirror position. So, yes, it is meant to allow effective use of a separate guide scope by eliminating mirror flop when in the locked position.
