A205-S5804 Can't find SATA drivers for Vista to XP "downgrade"

I'm feeling like such a newb right now, but I'm unable to find the proper drivers to allow XP to install it's self onto this laptop, once I get past this I believe I'll be fine. FWIW, I'm going to be slip-streaming the drivers into an install, I just need to pinpoint where I can download these drivers. Thanks for your time. im a newbie so i hope anyone would help me beacuse i dont get the threads...could anyone message me at [email protected] ill be online most of the time...i want my a205-s5804 to run on windows xp...thanks a bunch!!!

exactly same computer, same problem, when booting from the XP install CD, no hard drives are found. apparently there is a driver in existance but must be installed from a floppy during the "copying files" section of the XP install program.... sigh... that means a USB floppy disk driver and all that. what a crock

Downgrading a SatelliteA205-S5804 To XP Pro

Well, It looks like you might be approaching the problem from a driver side. Try approaching from the BIOS side. If possible, enter the BIOS and set your notebook's SATA setting to "ATA" or "Legacy" (especially if you are not doing any complex raid functions on the notebook). ATA or Legacy will allow easy access to the drive by making windows think its an old fashioned EIDE drive, and windows will have native drivers for it already. Good Luck :)

it's being quite a long time since i solved my problem, so don't remember the details.
but I remember to have downloaded the drivers from Toshiba's site, filtering with the exact notebook model and XP drivers.

Toshiba satellite A205-S5804 VIsta to XP

I had the same problem to make dual boot on a vista loaded laptop with XP. I use nlight to splitstream the RAD and it was successfull.

Try this link, there is a very nice article regarding this problem with pictures.
You can also try bootdisk to make a bootable CD then start with this CD and try to run your setup. Click here for bootdisk
