Our front load washer had standing water in the bottom of the barrel. The repair man over the phone said it sounded like the drain was clogged. He initially couldnt find a clog anywhere and had to take the washer apart further and then found that it was clogged with a Purex 3 in 1 sheet. I have been using these from the beginning of purchasing my front load about 7 months ago. I reviewed the product and it says it is safe for HE washers including front load. I dont see how this could be the problem as a childs sock is smaller than the dryer sheet and could just as easliy get caught. So someone please explain this too me, could it be the way I am loading the machine? PS Someone else in the household did the load that caused the problem.

The washtub suspension allows it to move but when overloaded it will move rather more than it is designed for and could open a gap between the washtub and the door large enough to allow items to slip through.
The suspension is carefully designed to absorb the out of balance forces, with which the washer would be noisy and tend to "walk" around the kitchen. These days consumers demand smoother and quieter performance from their washers and so it is increasingly important not to overload them.
A friend called out the service engineer to his new washer that he had been operating just like his old one. The engineer began by plugging in a laptop and looking accusingly at him said he had overloaded his new machine nine times in the few weeks since it was delivered. Guessing is no longer an acceptable method of loading the washing machine...

SOURCE: WASHER WONT DRAIN

Take off the lower panel ( 2 screws on bottom) pullout and down to remove. Make sure unit is unplugged pump is on the right hand side one hose coming from bottom of tub and the other goes out the back to the drain. Take off the hose from the bottom of the tub and be ready to catch alll the water in the tub suggest you use shop vac and remove all water first. look in the impellar in pump should be a clog right there then put everything back the way you toook it off and be careful to get the hose back on the way you took it off there is a slot in the hose and a tab on the pump for alignment.

The digital screen come up with F21. How do I fix this

F21 means the washing machine has a “water draining issue”, meaning the drain pump itself, or the drain hose is clogged and the washer is having problems draining the water out. In other words, the washer is taking too long to drain the water out of the tub. If you have a front load washer then you need to locate the drain pump which is usually located on the bottom front of the machine. If you have a top load washer then you need to make sure the drain hose is not clogged or pinched. The drain hose is located in the back bottom of the washer

My front loading GE washer WSSH300 will not drain.

Don't know if this will help or not, but your owners manual is available at http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/Dispatcher
Water won’t drain
Drain hose is kinked or •
Straighten drain hose and make sure washer is not improperly connected sitting on it. Top of drain outlet should be less than 8 ft. (2.5 m)
above floor. Household drain may • Check household plumbing. You may need to call be clogged a plumber. Plumbing this washer directly to a pipe is hard on the motor. Usually the drain hose elbow is inserted in a stand pipe, meaning the washer would drain water on the floor is the stand pipe is clogged.
Several items can cause the lack of draining.
If you can get to the drain hose, try lowering to a point that it will drain into a bucket. If it drains the system is not clogged. If you advance the timer and the washer drains this maybe the culprit. The motor can overheat and shut off. I would advance the timer to spin and listen for a hum in the motor and then quiet, a sign that the motor has overheated. If the water drains it sounds like the timer is at fault.
I would first make sure the drain hose is properly installed and not kinked somewhere. In earlier GE's the water drain pump could clog, your manual doesn't indicate that as a defect. Regardless timer, motor and pump are in the cycle to empty the washer water.

Soapy water standing in bottom not rinsing soap off dishes

It sounds as if it is not draining. Try to trace the drain line under the sink. Usually it goes into a disposall. The port where it connects to the disposall may be clogged. Another thought. If you had the disposall replaced recently they may not have taken the knock out plug out which would give the drain water no where to go.
