Can i bridge a Sony Xm-1652Z 2 Channel amp to 2 subs it gives me 2ohms

165 watts x 2 @ 4ohms and 200-230 watts@ 2 ohms or 400-460 watts bridged into a 4 ohm mono load is what the amp will actually do. A single 12 inch sub or a pair of 10 inch subs or 12s would be great

The Kicker L7 has an RMS power range of from 50-750 watts and a maximum power handling capability of 1,500 watts so your Sony amp will power it OK. A more powerful monoblock like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or the Kicker 08ZX750.1 would provide even more power and could operate safely at 2ohms.

You have the voice coils wired properly for the Sony amp. It's OK to have the sub impedance higher, but you definitely do not want it lower than the 4ohms the amp is rated at in bridged mode.

My information shows the XM-1652Z as being a 2-channel amp. It will not be stable below 4-ohms in bridged mode. For best power, your subs will need to be 2-ohms with all 3 wired in series. This will present a 6-ohm load to the amp. After wiring the subs in series, connect the positive speaker wire to one channel (+) and the negative speaker wire to the other channel (-). For the 1652Z no other wiring is necessary. For subs you will also want to set the LPF (80Hz) switch to the "ON" position (to the right).

Keep in mind that the rated output is only 400 watts RMS at 4-ohms in bridged mode. That's kinda wimpy for 3 subs. You would probably obtain better results from two 2-ohm subs, each connected to a separate channel. That way each sub would be getting 200 watts RMS, still low but there's lots of good subs that will sound pretty loud with 150-200 watts

IF THE RMS IS 800 THEN THAT IS THE MINIMUM YOU SHOULD RUN TO THEM. IF THE MAX IS OVER 1000 WATT, YOU SHOULD BRIDGE ONE SPEAKER TO EACH CHANNEL. YOU WILL PUSH THE MOST POWER TO THEM THAT WAY. MORE POWER = MORE BASS

yeah it will run them but you won't get your full power because the rms for your subs is high. try bridging them with some 8 gauge wire, and of you got a crossover it will help you out alot

I perfer a sound stream reference 500, it is a great amp. I had 4 Kicker comps 12", and man the boooom. What you have is good, if you have them bridged.

Yes, it should have little trouble. You will be best to keep it 2-channel and get another Sub. then run both. if you bridge it you will blow your 1 Sub. DON'T FORGET to put a in-line Low Pass Crossover in front of the Amp. OR any Sub.(one for each if you do go for 2) as they were never made for the high frequencies. An adjustable one is best for fine tuning. In thory you have a 600 watts buffer that way. If you do it Mono you are 400 watts over. If you want to go Mono you will need over 2000 watts on the Sub. end to turn it right up. Oh and some good ear-plugs if you want it loud whilst you are inside the car.

The best thing to do is to get a amp that is more watts than your subs, not the other way around, speakers are known to handel a lil more power but amps cant produce more power than they are capable of... your ground wire should be thick also, say 6 to 8 mm or so, and its best to put in a cap and an equalizer.

Your amp, being a 2-channel amp, should have 2 speaker connections with a negative sign(-) and 2 with positive signs(+)...Take your speaker wires (You will need 4 of them) and twist the ends of 2 of the together and put them into the negative spot on 1 side of your amp. Assuming you have 2 subs, connect them 1 to each sub and be sure they are on the negative sides of the subs or both are on the same side of the subs. Then do the same with the positive leads except to put them in the positive spot on the opposite side of the amp. So you will have the negatives from one side's outputs (or channel 1) and the positives from the other side's outputs (channel 2). Thus, your amp will be "bridged" across both channels.
