My JVC TV recently began getting a batch of thin white/clear horizontal lines at the top 1/5 of the screen. The bottom-most line is more solid white and its length varies by constantly moving (a busy side-to-side blinking...). Months ago, I noticed a slight rainbow-colored patch in the top left corner of the screen. Eventually, it went away. When this batch of lines appeared, it would only be when I first turned the TV on. After a few minutes the line would disappear. I made sure I moved everything that could produce electrical static interference away from the TV. No improvement... It's always been plugged into a surge protector. I paid $219 for it apprx.8 years ago. Not looking to pay almost triple for a new LCD/HD/Flatscreen TV. However equally not sure if I can learn how to open it up and do surgery. Don't most repair shops charge 200 deposit anyway? What does it normally cost to fix my problem?
