I had the same problem ! What I did was go to My Computer, right click, click properties,
select hardware, click device manager...look for Universal Bus Serial, double click to see the list of yout USB ports, and Uninstall the one that says, 'US Mass Storage',, then Restart the pc.. You should see a message, Found New Hardware' connect gigabeat and see if it is recognized...go luck... jesse
To unlock your Toshiba MES60V, pls try to move the lock
slider back and forth, it is possible for the internal switch to have
stuck in the lock position. If this will not work, the unit must be
physically opened and determined if the switch needs replacement. In
most instances replacement switch is not readily available. What
perhaps can be done is to desolder the switch to leave the unit in the
unlock setting making it usable.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Download, and install the firmware. It should work after that. It might of formatted the storage partition of the device, but you can resync it after you update the firmware on the device. You can get the firmware here: Gigabeat S Firmware.
mallesh: There is a switch on the bottom left of the player, flick this switch to the left using a small screwdriver, then flick it to the right. Hold down the windows logo button, and hold the left button on the directional button. This will bring it into firmware recovery mode. Next download this file: Gigabeat S firmware. Follow the instructions and your player will be fixed. llchuk: Try formating the storage media in Windows Media Player. If that doesn't work, update the firmware by downloading it from the link I posted for mallesh. It should work after the firmware update.
I am trying to register an Adobe program on my computer and I can't because the program says my serial number is invalid. It seems like there are many people with this problem.
