I have two Dometic roof top units both have sepreated controlls. The smaller bedroom unite will not shout off. When turned to off, when the thermostate is lowered, or when the controll is switched to furnace. Still the unite will keep running. The fan can be low or high but the unite will not shout off unless the breaker is opened. I thought the problem may be the wall mounted controll so I switched the one from the front (knowened to be good) to the back bedroom. No change. The bedroom controll works all the functions on the front united as desinged. The bedroom AC will still not shout off, Please advise "Thank You" Mark. [email protected]

Yes. Cut hole in roof, install new unit and seal. If you have/want a remote thermostat you would have to run the wires unless you get one with a remote control, so it's easiest to get a unit with the controls on the unit it's self. You can run and secure the power wire over the roof.
Depending on what model AC unit and control box is in the upper unit. Call or e-mail dometic and get recommendations first. ( dometicusa.com ) You'll be glad you did. Been there, done that.
Sounds like base gasket at roof is loose or defective to start with. Try removing ceiling assembly enough to tighten 4 bolts that secure roof unit to inside bracket. Do not compress too much, just snug them all evenly and see if water slows or stops. If not, you will have to remove upper unit (roof) and replace gasket and re-secure but don't tighten to excessive, only compress gasket approx half of original thickness. Also make sure upper unit is aligned properly with opening of roof.
Fairly easy. The only thing that you must figure out is how many amps the heat strips will draw. Make sure the fuses and the breaker switch can handle them. And be aware your electric bills will shoot up.
May be low voltage problem or bad connection this may cause controller to shut one or both down. Need to talk to RV dealer for assistance on this system.
has to be rest and tested by bmw dealship something has caused the roof to stop possible the control unit failed, a faulty microswitch in roof or the straps in the roof have failed and thrown it out of timing, cauing it to shout down system.
I just spoke with the mechanic at my RV dealership and he said the sticky side goes on the a/c unit. You only have to turn it on it's side to do this. Just wait 1 hour after re-installing the unit on your RV before turning it on.
I have a dometic duo-therm. The unit works great and fan blows strong and both high and low work., but air is coming out of the ceiling unit rather than the duct work. The bedroom unit works OK, but the air is strong out of one duct, and not much comes out of the others. The front unit only has air coming out on the A/C unit and none out of the ducts.
