I have a Kenmore 3.5 capacity front loader a little over a year old I t won't start ...there is power, water is on, door lock does not light up and start just blinks??? Any solution before I cal for repair? thank you Claire

    I will unplug for 30 minutes and let you know..there is no error code, I don't have machine that
    does that...

    just got home , was unplugged for 7 hrs...any other suggestions or do you think I have to call
    for repair

Hi, Welcome to FixYa. Based on you description you've got a door latch switch issue. For whatever reason the control is not getting the "door closed" signal. If nothing is blocking the door and you are certain the door is closed tight, the latch is likely faulty. Let me know if you are able to do it yourself and I'll guide you on changing it before phoning in a tech. Macmarkus :)

    The latch is typically about $40 - $60us. retail at places such as "repairclinic.com" or "searspartsdirect.com" just so you have an idea. It will look like this...

Hi,

Unplug the unit for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it ON. If that would reset the machine, it's perfect - Unless you need to get it repaired.

As i am not there, it would be tough to diagnose. I assume that there is NO error codes or any other issue. In this situation, either the door latch assembly has failed or it's a faulty control board. Both would require a tech to diagnose and fix it for you.

My kenmore he2 front loader is not going threw the wash cycle, but all the lights come on and the door is locked what could be wrong?
Hum may have a bad water pressure switch? It detirmines when the wash cycle should start according to the water level. if bad it will not signal the appliance to start washing. Also may want to check ur door lock switch if its bad it wont go into wash either.

Kenmore front loader washing machine won't start
You will need to replace the door lock. Here is the part to order.
To replace the lock, remove the band securing the boot to the front panel and fold back the door boot. Now you can access and replace the lock. Let me know if you should need further help.

Front loader washer model 41744102301. it wont start. door lock light is on but you can still open the door. can't get nothing going, no water comes in no spinning, as if there was no power, but door lock...

Door locks, but will not fill up with water. Alarm sounds and lights flash once every minute or so
There is a rectangular magnet attached on the inside of the drawer for the detergent. Located on the right hand side near the front of the drawer. This magnet had come loose. Some glue and caulking worked well and the washer is working fine now. Meant to post this weeks ago.

Are you happy with the Kenmore 800 4.0 cu.ft. top load washer?
For large capacity, a front loader would be your best bet. An HE2 by Kenmore should be sufficient. If a toploader is overloaded, it's more likely to do damage. Also a Whirlpool Duet would work. Whirlpool makes Kenmore, so shop for the best price, (they are the same inside)

Kenmore 3.5 frnt loader always has inches of H20 in rubber gasket
does your model start with 417? if so then there is a new door gasket that will help with water left in the boot.
if you have 110, then there is no new gasket/ boot...
you need to clean the drain pump sump screen.
either unit will have a clean out screen that is a removable cover on the front of the pump and it allows you to unscrew the sump filter and clean it out.
