That shows as a defrost problem, how old is this fridge?from what i see this is old, some parts are unavailable for it,if you send the full model number i can look up the parts for you,if this is an older machine open the fridge door, look down where the bottom hinge is and there should be a tag with the model number your missing a few letters after the F if not there look up on the top right hand wall or on the ceiling in the fridge section.then open the freezer, from the bottom up remove the second bin or draw from the bottom up,reach in and touch the back inside wall of the freezer, see if there's any frost or ice buildup on the wall.you might have to unplug the fridge, remove the food in freezer, remove the back inside wall, you'll see the evap coil,i think on this model the timer is on the bottom behind the kick panel,go here to see timer
https://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Defrost-Timer/WR9X482/2008
with the fridge running stick a screw driver into the timer and turn the timer until it clicks, the fans and compressor will shut off,now with the timer in defrost and the back freezer wall off see if the heater comes on.also check the wire connector on the timer it could have moved while you moved the fridge,if the heater comes on you have a bad timer,if not change out the heater and defrost thermostat located on top of the evap coil.go here to see heater assy.
https://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Defrost-Heater-Assembly/WR49X392/304720
also while you're in there change out the defrost thermostat go here to see part
https://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Defrost-Thermostat/WR50X55/3485
first before you do this make sure the coil is clean on the bottom and see if you see the timer down there, also open the freezer door, you should hear the fan blowing, usually it takes like 10 to 14 days for a defrost problem to show up but it says DE is a defrost issue, write back with the full model number but these parts should be the same, let me know if you found the timer and did the heater come on when you manually turn the timer to defrost.i'll be online for a little bit so if you're gonna check this out or you want help let me know.

Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.

  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.

SOURCE: side by side wirlpool fridge freezer not cooling down

make sure the fan motors are running. there is one near the compressor in the bottom rear and one in the freezer area. also be sure the compressor is running. being it was in storage there could be rust on the motors or possibly a mouse could have chewed through some wires.

i had the same problem and i replaced the defrost heater and it worked fine for about one month but now having the same issue. Most of the time from what I have heard it is the defrost heater (about $60 part). I might have another issue going on with mine like a defrost thermostat. Your defrost heater is right under the panel on the inside of the freezer section. remove white panel on back side of freezer section and remove two screws and two wires and replace it and you should be fine.

https://www.repairclinic.com is a good place to get troubleshooting ideas. Does the compressor make any sounds? There is usually some sort of starting relay or circuit to start the compressor and then switch to run mode. It is often inside a small box mounted on the compressor. If relay fails compressor will get very warm and make clicking or humming sound.

Hi Sal and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
Your model number as posted crosses to several models. The last numbers of the model number are important for you to get the parts that you need. Go to this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/modelsearch.aspx?model=TFX27F
Find your exact model number and then click that model number. It will bring up the parts list for your unit. On the left side of the page you will see that the parts list is in sections. Find the section your parts are in and click that section. The parts list for that section will appear on the top of the screen. Clicking on the item number you need will allow you to order the part.
If the parts are not carried or out of stock you can also enter yourmodel number at http://www.searspartsdirect.com

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

My GE tfx27f is working fine but when the

the thump ing sound is probably the rubber mounts under the compressor . they go hard and do not insulate the compressor . . pry the comp up on all four mounts and make sure they are loose and not stuck down if ther are hard and not bouncy .. replace them . if compressor has borken internal motor mounts / there is nothing you can do . but put up with noise ..

GE ESS25XGMC WW Side by Side

its possible that your water tank has frozen up, try turning the refrig off and leave the doors open for about 10-15 mins and try it again. if that works just reset temp controls a little lower..
