I have a top freezer/bottom refrigerator-6months old-no icemaker hooked up. There is water dripping continuously into the refrigerator compartment-some of it freezes and the rest accumulates in the...

Hello,

That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer or in some case espically on models with the freezer on the top,the water is leaking from the freezer vents into the fresh food compartment.
The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain through then totally flush w/warm water.
The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center

Good luck

I hope this helps

Water accumulates under vegetable bin (bottom of refrigerator) every couple of days

If this is an older style top mount refrigerator than most likely the drain is clogged causing the water to leak into the fridge during the defrost process. What's the model number?

There is water accumulating on the bottom of the fridge. I replaced the door seal but it still accumulating the water,

check your drain at the back of refrigerator inside behind the controls & light. some time it will get clogged up. Only if this is a top & bottom type. do not try this if you are not good with your hands at fixing thing. and be safe .

There is a leak somewhere in the refrigerator causing water/ice to accumulate in the bottom of the freezer. Husband says it is not the icemaker itself that is causing the problem.

There may be a vent hole at back of fridge, some fridger like mine have a drain hole to vent moisture out through a pipe to drain on top of rear tray for evaporation.

Kenmore refrigerator 106.72206201 - accumulating ice and water

Probably a clogged drain line in the freezer. Unplug it for 2 days and leave it open. Reset controls to 3 and C or factory settings clean the coils on the bottom outside with a vacuum and a brush and restart the fridge.

Samsung Fridge Freezer leaking water

hi August.
Cause: A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leakage. This happens when food particles or other debris clogs up the drain hose, which can lead to ice buildup and, eventually, water leaking out of the freezer and refrigerator.
3 common refrigerator problems you can easily fix yourself

The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle.
How to Fix Water Leaking From the Bottom of Freezer

Why is my fridge leaking water on the floor? If the refrigerator is leaking water it's possible that the refrigerator has a clogged or freezing defrost drain. If the defrost drain freezes the defrost water will overflow the drain and drip down to the bottom of the compartment, If enough water accumulates in the bottom it can run out onto the floor.

Our Whirlpool top freezer unit is leaking water into the refrigerator. The model number is ET21NKXGW01 and at the top of the inside of the fridge, water is draining out into the fridge. The defrosting...

We were able to fix the freezer water leak. We unscrewed the false freezer floor and the inside back panel. Ice had accumulated on the freezer floor and the defrosting drain was frozen. We removed the ice by using a blow dryer then poured boiling hot water onto the frozen drain hole. The frozen water in the drain pipe hole eventually melted and the water released into the defrosting drip pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. Problem solved. We no longer have water leaking into the refrigerator.
