My laptop randomly pushes buttons from my keyboard. When I turn My Toshiba Satellite L300 on it starts pushing buttons. So I'm kind of afraid to turn it off again because last time I did it, I couldn't get past the Setup Utility because the laptop constantly pushed the F2 button. But the "-button and the !-button or also one of it's favourites. How do I fix this? Or should I bring it back to the store where I bought it?

If it is still within warranty, then take it back to the store. If not, you are better off finding a tech savvy person and have that person take the computer keyboard apart and clean it properly so the keys don't stick and actually lets go.
If you have spilled anything sticky in it or used it with sticky fingers, it will most likely be the reasons for it to happen and in that case you have voided the warranty.

SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite A75-S209 (PSA70U-09700E) PC

Hi,

Take out the battery and try booting the machine on AC power only. If the machine boots up then let the operating system load up, the shut it down. Remove the AC jack and put the battery back in again, then power it up.

If it boots all is well if it doesn't then there could be a problem with the battery.

If the laptop won't start on AC power, what you could do is remove the system memory, clean the brass pins and the slots and then re-seat them/it.

Then try to turn the machine on.

Good luck.

You need a replacement keyboard. You can get one from ebay for about $25. Just search for "toshiba satellite pro L300 keyboard" without the quote.

Several keys are not working on toshiba L300

Hello,

the problem is from the keyboard. Open the laptop, detach the keyboard from the laptop and clean it. If cleaning does not solve the problem, it means you will have to get another keyboard or use an external keyboard.

Take care.

Will not turn on. Toshiba 2060cds

I am having a hard time finding the manual for this older laptop, but, there is always a power button somewhere on the laptop itself, on the side, front, top of the keyboard, push everything and anything till you find it. Just plugging it in will not turn it on.
