I have the Kodak 5300 all-in-one printer. I have a new black ink and an almost full color ink cartridge installed. I am not getting any error messages and yet the printer won't print correctly. Pictures I print have a purple hue. Documents that have just black ink don't print at all. I have installed and re-installed the black cartridge and it doesn't seem to help. I have followed the Kodak instructions on taking out the cartridges and the print head, re-installing them, running calibration, cleaning printhead. None of that helped.
I have the exact same problem. Printed good for a month then suddenly started printing everything in a pink hue and want print black at all even though it says i have plenty of ink and i have cleaned and calibrated over and over and even installed new ink ....still sux!!! i haven't had it long and am very VERY dissastisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have the exact same problem. Okay, I hunted today and finally got someone to give me a number for 5300 support. Here it is: 800-421-6699. I spoke to a gentleman, Aaron who went through all the steps again with me and then told me he is sending me a new print head and new ink. I am finally feeling like this is going to be resolved. I got my new print head and the ink and installed it. It is back to printing at top quality. I am thankful it took care of it. I hope you have the same results.I got my new print head and the ink and installed it. It is back to printing at top quality. I am thankful it took care of it. I hope you have the same results.

My printer hasnt been printing after it hasnt been used for months. I have changed the black and colour ink as it said that they were both empty, and it said the ink levels were full after installing them. The printer still wouldnt print after calibrating and cleaning the printer head numerous times and trying to print 20 test pages nothing happened except it now says replace ink as no ink again! My printer hasnt been printing after it hasnt been used for months. Open the cover of the Kodak 5300 printer. Take out the cartridges that are to be reset. Find the filing hole. It will most probably be somewhere on the bottom or the rear of the ink cartridge.Moisten the syringe's needle and push it into the sponge all the way through the filling hole. Make sure you do not apply too much force, as the sponge will likely rip apart and consequently will cause clogs. Keep the ink bottle on a stable surface. The syringe's needle is usually very delicate and thin. Slowly, squeeze the ink bottle to make the ink flow into its sponge. Again, do not apply a lot of pressure or the sponge might expand, which will cause the ink to come out disproportionately during printing.
Squeeze the ink into its sponge until it starts to look moistened. Make sure you do not fill up too much.
Use tissues for wiping the filling hole. Install the refilled ink cartridge on your Kodak 5300 printer. You will hear a click when the cartridge installs at the right place.
we replaced printhead and it wants us to calibrate and replace ink color ink cartridge, and before we put the printhead in , it had 1/2 full color in cartridge
1. Make sure that you have removed the plastic cover from the cartridge nozzle .
2. check if your black ink cartridge is full - put the nuzzle on the tip of you finger if it leaves ink drop then it is full and should print ok , if it didn't leave ink on your finger then it is dry and you should buy new cartridge .
I called Kodak and they are sending me a new printer head at no charge! Can't get any better then that. Man I talked to was very nice, knowledgeable and polite.
Here are the things you will be asked to try if you call support. They may fix the problems as well. Taking the printhead out and putting it back in is the big helper.
Remove the black and color ink cartridges. Right above where the black ink cartridge was, in the top left hand corner of the printhead, push up towards the ceiling and you should be able to push a button that releases the printhead. Place the printhead right back into the printer and push straight back on the back wall. You should hear a loud snap. Replace the ink cartridges which should snap as well. Close the printer. After about a minute or so the printer will ask you to do a calibration. Insert a paper and press start. Scan the calibration sheet. After that, in the menu, do a printhead clean. (If this is a 5100, do it in the home center ->? in the top right ->Maintainence ->Clean Printhead.) Do one basic and one deep. Print a demo sheet to see if anything has changed. If the picture looks better, continue to do cleans. In the event that it does not, the printhead will need to be replaced and since the printer is still under warranty, Kodak specialists will try to overnight you a printhead. The whole process is short and free. The number for Kodak AiO Support is 1 800 421 6699.
