Hi, there is no water to the ice maker! The water line is not blocked. The water is turned on. Recently replaced the ice maker. Temperature in freezer is -0 to -10. I see the ice maker cycle through every hour or so.
Is there a part on the system that tells the water valve when to send water to the ice maker? If so, where is it and what is it called? Please advise with any suggestions? Thank You, John
Thank you for your answere that was previously posted for this same problem but i am sorry that i am not understanding which valve needs to be turned and and i should be good to go. are you recommending the water supply valve inthe basement? that one is turned on. are you recommending the water inlet valve behind the fridge? there is no way to turn that its mounted to a bracket and can only mount one way. please explain a little more. thank you.
thank you sunvideo 1 for adding a further comment on trouble shooting this no water to ice maker.problem.. i have changed the water valve, and the icemaker already.i have read rhe schematic for the fridge, and the wiring diagram and schematic for the icemaker and from what i can make out of it is the icemaker generates the signal to the water valve when it needs to fill with water. and the valve is not receiving it. so that tends me to believe that a wire or wires may be pnched or open that sends down the voltage( signal) to the valve to open. thanks again. sam.

Yeah, the valve is definitely not turned on. Just turn the valve and you should be good to go...
Check the water valve on the back of the ref behind the cardboard panel

Thank You for your resposes. There is water to the valve. I actually swaped the yellow connector (yellow is for drinking water, green is for water to the ice maker) with the green connector at the valve. When I push for drinking water, the ice maker try fills up. So my thought is that there is no signal/voltage going through the green connector?Ant further thoughts? Thank You, John
no water to the ice maker. when the ice maker cycles there was no voltage to the solonoid to open the water valve. replaced the valve and the ice maker. water valve on the other side of cabinet has voltage to it when i push the switch to fill a glass of water.you have mentioned in your posting for the fix was to turn the valve.? please explain.
Hi everyone, I have determined that some how there is no voltage/signal going to the water valve that fills the ice trays up with water. So, at this point the next step would be to purchase and replace the water valve$$$.There is a quick fix, no very pretty, use a small jumper wire the goes to a switch (like a house light switch) between the yellow and green positive contact connector at the water valve. With the switch in the on position, with a cup push the drinking water tab on the front of the refrigerator for about 7 seconds, during that 7 seconds the ice try will fill with water. Be sure to put the switch back in the off position when finished. I did this late at night after being very frustrated with the refrigerator after trying and taking everything apart to fix it. The funny thing is that now that I have installed my shad tree repair, the valve works correctly every now and then.
ice maker does not work, shut it off overnight. turned back on, made a few ice cubes. installed new filter but red filter light is still on
