Model LSQ9010LW0 Humming/Buzzing noise coming from selection dial area when selecting any cycle. Washer will begin only in high spin mode. All other selections result in Humming/Buzzing noise. thanks
I get a buzzing noise from the control knob. It doesn't do it all the time, and if I hit it real hard, it'll stop (yes, I'm a chick). I think it's the timer, but I don't know how to get to it. I just replaced the "cam/dog ears" this morning. If the timer's just as easy, I'll try that by myself, too. Hi Jo - Often when a unit is making a humming noise, it is
because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent
solution. Either the drainage hose or pump
may be clogged and needs to be cleaned. If not, the washer may possibly be
experiencing an issue with the door lock assembly, faulty pump, timer or
control board not communicating correctly. Because it could be a number of any
one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional
to properly diagnose and repair the unit.
Most likely a motor or solenoid has a loose coil or its magnetic field is vibrating a nearby piece of steel. If it hums all of the time except when the washer is filling, it is the timer or main motor. If it hums only when the washer is filling, it is one of the water valves (you can isolate by selecting hot or cold instead of warm for one of the cycles).
The timer motor is on the control panel right behind the cycle select knob. The main motor is under the tub. If the main motor is humming, it may be overloaded, but in that case, the humming should diminish as the motor gets up to speed.
Try to put it on rinse on another cycle, like normal, heavy duty or delicate. If it works, then your timer is probably bad. If it doesn't work then maybe the pump. Best of luck
I have the same problem as those who stated their dishes are not getting clean. If you listen to the wash cycle you should hear water sloshing around inside. If you hear just a humming sound the washer has no water. I have this problem. I had a tech come and he told me the water is syphoning out my drain and I need to change my plumbing, then he charged me $65. I have lived in this house for ten years. 6 with the washer that came with house and 4 with this Kenmore Elite. This problem started about 6 months ago. So what I have been doing is opening the door, after the humming starts and the sloshing stops, and adding about 2 L of water. It seems to wash just fine after that.
HI. the filter is fine. Anytime you can hear a buzzing, That is behind the timer module, this will indicate that there is a serious issue concerning the timer mechanism. This device is damaged. The actual timer motor is failing. This will not allow for proper advancement of the cycle selected, in this case. The entire timer control device will need to replaced asap. Once replaced, the unit will operate correctly.
HI, this timer mechanism is damaged, and i recommend the replacement of this defective timer control module asap. it can be accessed by removing the cover that is located behind the control panel. the timer is screwed onto the panel from the backside.
replacing this timer control module will correct this issue.
Check the water pump for an obstruction in the chamber area, your pump may be sticking and that will cause the buzzing sound. The water pump runs during the fill portion of the cycle on several of the selected wash cycles to recirculate the water.
