Could be a relay failing, a long 2 -3 seconds hard electrical hum could be the compressor failing & the relay overload is doing it's job shutting down your overheating compressor, unplug it for 30 min plug it back in a slight hum & click off is most likely just a relay but a long hard electrical hum is bad news Compressor & if it has no warranty left on the compressor repair could run $500.00- $700.00.
It sounds like the ice maker. If you don't have the water hooked up, and the ice sensor bar is in the down position, the ice maker assembly will attempt to make ice continuously.
Solution is easy: raise the ice sensor bar until it clicks in the up position. It will lock in this position, and the ice maker will not cycle anymore.
SOURCE: Buzzing intermittent
most likely the compressor relay is the clicking noise but i think the problem is most likely the compressor is starting to go bad and is lcoking up. if the refig is under 5 yrs old it is most likely still in warranty by amana

It's not the ice maker. A repairman just said it's the way the motor fits into the housing and nothing can be done. Replacement parts don't fix it. Other thoughts? Definitely from the freezer.
