May be much quicker however to pull the cap and take it to your local Grainger outlet for a generic replacement (alco check ebay or any refrigeration supply house). Test the cap with meter set to uf but before test, short out the tabs to drain charge. If you do not have meter for test, take cap to motor repair shop for free test(or grainger or refrig. supply).
The capacitor should have an mfd /uf rating printed on the part along with a voltage rating. You can use same or greater voltage rating however the higher voltage cap may be larger in size (better quality). The mfd rating should be within + or - 5 percent of printed rating.
Heat kills caps so they should be placed where they will get plenty of cool air. Watch the duty cycle rating of your unit to prevent overheating parts.
Many generators are overstated as to their capacity. I would recommend limiting the output to about 75 percent of rated capacity and try not to use the generator for powering large air compressors or large motors connected to long extension cords. Good luck
