My gigabeat mes60v wont charge up at all, it only works when it is plugged in

I decided it was to much of an issue to get help to replace the battery so I just bought a new Ipod Nano

I had the same problem ! What I did was go to My Computer,right click, click properties,
select hardware, click device manager...look for Universal Bus Serial, double click to see the list of yout USB ports, and Uninstall the one that says, 'US Mass Storage',, then Restart the pc.. You should see a message, Found New Hardware' connect gigabeat and see if it is recognized...go luck... jesse

Download, and install the firmware. It should work after that. It might of formatted the storage partition of the device, but you can resync it after you update the firmware on the device. You can get the firmware here: Gigabeat S Firmware.

maybe you should replace your batteries.

I am trying to register an Adobe program on my computer and I can't because the program says my serial number is invalid. It seems like there are many people with this problem.

There is a little switch on the bottom of the Gigabeat (just to the left of the mini usb port on it).

Put a pin into the little dimple in the switch and make sure its pushed all the way over towards the USB port.

There is a smill switch on bottom, you need a paper clip switch it off and on a few times.
