My Kenmore front load tumble action washer model number 417 is stopping mid cycle at the after rinse and won?t go to final spin automatically. Also it won?t draw any cold water into the machine an only draws water in if the machine is on warm or hot (on warm it is only drawing in Hot water. We then push to stop and turn the control to a point in the spin cycle where it will finish.

The water temp problem is because your cold water inlet valve is not opening. It's a dual water inlet valve and the whole thing has to be replaced. It's located where the water hose is connected to the dryer.
The final spin problem is probably caused by the control which is not making contact when it gets to that spot in the cycle. I have had luck taking the control apart and cleaning the contacts.

I have checked the valve and confirmed that the cold supply is working

did you mean the valve is inside the washer and that you are not refering to the valve supply in the wall?

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Kenmore front load tumble action washer

Snaggs, If your model number begins with 417 it could be a couple of issues. Start with the drain pump. Remove the bottom panel and see if the pump is clogged with coins or debris. It will be on the right. Check the pump impeller. Have a bunch of towells handy as you will have a lot of water coming out at you. When you drop the bottom panel you will be able to see if the belt is on in back. If this does not clear up the problem, more than likley it will be in the motor control board. Catriver...post back.
